Missouri Lt. Gov. Kinder: ‘Assault weapons’ is a term misused by ‘suburban soccer moms’

Republican Missouri lieutenant governor and 8th Congressional District candidate Peter Kinder declared that “‘assault weapons’ is a misused term used by suburban soccer moms who do not understand what is being discussed here” during a Republican primary forum in Salem, Mo., Thursday, the Missouri News Horizon reported.
Kinder made his anti-gun control statement during a forum at Salem City Hall in which all 12 major GOP candidates for the 8th Congressional District seat being vacated next month by retiring Republican Rep. Jo Ann Emerson attempted to prove their conservative credentials.
The Republican nominee for the seat will be decided by the 86 voting members of the 8th District Republican committee, and will immediately become the heavy general election front-runner in the strongly Republican district.

Rush coined the term ‘soccer mom’ and it was derogatory.
“Soccer mom” was an invented voting group. And if you recall, the “soccer moms” were average, ordinary, middle class women who drove SUVs and vans — and they just did it at all. Oh, my God! They got up and five minutes later they were fatigued and ready to go back to bed. They had to do everything. They had to make breakfast, get the kids off school, pick them up from school, go to the school play. And then take ‘em to soccer practice, then take ‘em home, then feed ‘em, then go to the play, and go to bed. And Bill Clinton cared more about them than their own lousy husbands did. That was the “soccer mom” contingent.”

Kinder is using the term in the same manner relative to firearms. In this case, it’s gender neutral.

@Maudie — yeah, I know. It was just the nonsensical comments about gender that made me think back on those December nights during playoff seasons with the icy rain slicing through anything that was dry and wondering what the hell kind of idiot insists on making kids risk pneumonia and severe injury in order to win a poorly-made plastic trophy.
I think we sometime overthink the gun grabbing issue. It boils down to only one thing: There is no legal way to change the 2nd amendment except through another amendment. If obama and his grifter cohorts in congress want to proceed with that, then bring it. Otherwise they can STHU. And we should just keep hammering away on that instead of dignifying any of this other nonsense with rational thought or considered opinions.
