This is fabulous. Thank you Madam King and BFH.When I was a youngster I listened faithfully to “The Black Museum” narrated by Orson Wells on Radio Luxemburg. The Black Museum, The Gallery of Death.
Naturally I went straight to that program: Here in the grim stone archives in the bowls of Scotland Yard is the Black Museum. Holding instruments of murder. Anything and everything made can be an instrument of murder. Wire, an Antenna,a cigarette lighter, an ashtray, a candlestick holder, and tonights eposide, a claw hammer.
Rarely is a gun, let alone an “assault rifle,” ever mentioned.
I loved that radio broadcast and Orson Wells.
Just sayin’. Thank you again for the link. OTR.

It’s amazing how well the Jack Benny shows hold up today.
(My favorites were episodes that featured Mel Blanc)

That Complete Broadcast Day with the Baseball game is interesting.

It was intended to be a time capsule recording because FDR had scheduled a major address that day ,a few weeks after Germany invaded Poland.

It was anticipated that he might announce US entry into the war.As it turned out it was essentially just a reaffirmation of “lend lease” type support for the European Allies.

The best show was Louie Prima’s midnight remote music broadcast (including the timeless hit, “I Want the Waiter With the Water For My Daughter”)
