GA Homeowner Uses Derringer to Disarm Shotgun Wielding Burglar, Then Shoots Burglar With Own Shotgun

A homeowner in GA came home to find a man in his home armed with a shotgun.
The homeowner drew a derringer style pistol he had in his pocket and told the suspect to drop the gun.
The suspect complied and the homeowner picked up the shotgun and attempted to hold the would be burglar at gunpoint until police arrived, but the suspect charged him, so the homeowner shot him once in the chest with the shotgun.
The suspect was taken to an area hospital where he is listed in critical condition.
“I hit him,” said the homeowner. “I knew I did. I meant to.”

This story and any others like it must be trumpeted just as vigorously as the liberal stories advocating gun control are.

Okay, call me a little off the wall, but the first thing I thought of when the article said the burglar charged the homeowner holding his own shotgun on him, was that the perp knew that it wasn’t loaded.
I couldn’t believe that he would charge someone holding a loaded shotgun on him. Obviously the perp wasn’t too bright.

Nix the above comment. The CBS video explains that the shotgun belonged to the homeowner. That just makes the perp an idiot.

I loved the man’s response ” I knew I hit him, I meant to”. The news presenters “not journalists no such thing anymore” seemed gleeful too that the burglar got his justice. More like this and perhaps the criminals may rethink their actions.
