What a plank! Bizarre start to men’s fashion week in London
Bizarre hats made out of wooden planks, models with ‘blacked out’ faces, and some ankle swinging sportswear were among some of the truly outlandish designs which kicked off Men’s fashion week.
As models dressed in outlandish outfits stalked the catwalk, British Fashion Council member David Gandy said he wants to make London the menswear capital of the world.
The ambassador for Men’s Fashion Week said the event would be ‘bigger than ever’ this year.

Ah, we might be snickering at the ‘plank helmet’ look right now. But we might not be laughing at this look so much in the near future when fashion morphs into urban warfare camouflage out of necessity. At that point this look will be called ‘broken up pallet helmets’. No doubt plastic grocery bags, cigarette butts, and Starbucks coffee cups will be tacked on to the lower extremities to further the urban camouflage effect.
