Thank you so much for posting this. It’s amazing how many people don’t know about it. Another piece of incredibly important recent American history that underscores the relevance of the II.

And some have the audacity to support our present government to pass new federal gun laws that would remove the one defense from the hands of law abiding citizens we possess to protect us from a tyrannical government, just like the Second Amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America warned us about, all in the name of protecting the children!!
Let us pray that history doesn’t repeat itself. Or there will be bloodshed.

Why do we want our “assault” rifles? Better to have them and not need them than to need them and not have them. We know it and they will know it. Don’t tread on us.
Battle of Anthens…I feel a tee shirt coming.

In all my 50+ years I had never heard of this story. Why? This is insane. Every single kid born in America since 1946 needed to be and needs to be taught this story.
None of us has ever been taught what to do when we strongly suspect tyranny is taking hold of our towns, our states, our federal government. All we were ever taught was that America was set up in such a fashion that it was near impossible for tyranny to gain a firm grasp on our federal government. You know, those checks and balances we were always reassured would hold us in good stead. That really aren’t.
Ridding a small town of corrupt characters is one thing. Ridding the whole of DC is a whole other kettle of fish. Or rather, why aren’t we just walling the damn place off?

First time I heard of the Battle of Athens was when I read Unintended Consequences.

I live in East Tennessee as well, and I’ve only heard of it in recent years. The school system doesn’t like to recount stories where the gubmint is beaten, I geuss.

Now it’s my turn to be a little embarassed. I had never heart of “Unintended Consequences” by John Ross. After looking around, I couldn’t find a copy for less than $150.00. I did find one online in .pdf
