If Pelosi’s overriding concern is with the full faith and credit of the United States government I wonder how she’ll feel when the economy completely tanks and there’s no way even the Left will be able to pretend that the government has milked us dry and the full faith and credit of the United States is totally completely utterly kaput?

We can have a discussion on cutting spending in the future? When has the Democrat Party ever had a “discussion” on cutting spending – they want to increase spending.
The Democrat symbol is a donkey, which is appropriate because sometimes one can only get the attention of a donkey by bashing it on the head with a 2 x 4. This is what conservative Republicans are trying to do.

I read extensively about this last week, and the libs are saying Section 4 of the 14th Amendment gives the President the power to raise the debt with out congress. Below is section 4 in its entirerty. I included section 5. They talking heads forgot to mention section 5. Do you see anything in there that can be used to justify by-passing congress? I sure don’t.

Section 4. The validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law, including debts incurred for payment of pensions and bounties for services in suppressing insurrection or rebellion, shall not be questioned. But neither the United States nor any State shall assume or pay any debt or obligation incurred in aid of insurrection or rebellion against the United States, or any claim for the loss or emancipation of any slave; but all such debts, obligations and claims shall be held illegal and void.
Section 5. The Congress shall have power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article.
