Looking for a New ‘America’s Mayor’? I Choose Mayor of Las Vegas
Obama can’t seem to keep that “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas” thing straight. He keeps forgetting that you have to GO to Vegas first and, instead, he is constantly deterring people from visiting the sin-alicious city.
The Mayor of Las Vegas has had just about enough.
“He has a real psychological hang up about the entertainment capitol of the world. An apology won’t be acceptable this time, I don’t know where his vendetta comes from but we’re not going to let him make his bones by lambasting Las Vegas, that’s why (the press) is here today.
“He didn’t learn his lesson the first time, but when he hurt our economy by his ill conceived rhetoric, we didn’t think it would happen again, but now that it has I want to assure you, when he comes I’ll do everything I can to give him the boot back to Washington and to visit his failures back there.
“I gotta tell you this, everybody says I shouldn’t say it, but I gotta tell you the way it is. This president is a real slow learner.”
I’d want to make him “America’s Mayor” for the slow learner line alone, but he went one better. From Fox News:
Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman said during a hastily called news conference that Obama is no friend to Las Vegas and would not be welcomed here if he visits. “I’ll do everything I can to give him the boot,” Goodman said
“He has to step up right away and say, you know, he wasn’t thinking,” Goodman said. “Sometimes when he’s not using his monitors and reading what he says, he doesn’t think. And this is one of those times he didn’t think, and he should straighten out the record because he’s been here, he knows Las Vegas is a great place.”
Mayor Goodman, you are made of awesome. Just like Vegas! (if you are looking for a spokeswoman who doesn’t, you know, totally diss your city, call me! )

For any REAL president to cherry pick out any single US city or US area and criticize is unbelievably DisLoyal and beneath his position!!…..Obama should spend less time criticizing his own American cities, and criticizing other countries like Iran, China, North Korea…..But noooo. He BOWS DOWN to these countries while attacking his own!…….Loyal or Treason? Smells more like treason to me!

I live in Nevada (Reno, not LV), and I’ve seen some things written about Oscar Goodman that indicate he’s more of an opportunist and a pragmatist than a conservative. He may be saying the things we like to hear, but he’s doing it to market the city. Nothing wrong with that–just don’t get too excited about the guy.
Now, the mayor of *North* Las Vegas, Mike Montandon, is a good conservative. He is running for US Senate in the Republican primary. He has at least one campaign mailer out on which he takes a strong pro-life stand. He also decries the out-of-control spending and usurpation of people’s powers by the State Bureaucratic Apparatus™ (the federal gov’t). He is passionate about returning to the Constitution.

First of all, Hiney probably does not own a vehicle, unless of course, it is one of those motorized bicycles. His mother probably owns a Toyota, which he occasionally borrows to head down to the local public library that keeps his liberal reading material current. There is no doubt that Hiney was recently laid off from his Burger King fryer job due to a slowdown in consumption of fast food the progressive members of society are seeking due to recent government healthcare suggestions. (Stop drinking, stop smoking, stop eating bad food or you’ll lose your current coverage.)
As far as Mayor Goodman goes, the fact that he is not running for any particular job, and the fact that he is nonpartisan, only leads me to believe the guy is a pretty spectacular human being who says what he thinks and might even follow through with his stated commitment. I look forward to obama’s visit to Las Vegas in the near future to see if the Mayor bothers to greet the o at the airport or continues his afternoon feeding the slot machines like a good Las Vegas mayor ought to be doing.
