Keep massaging it. I suspect the Bullpen button is too low key and traffic to the reader submitted stories will go down. I love the reader submitted stories and hope you continue to fully promote it .
Low key? I agree, that’s why I just put a widget in the sidebar that displays the titles and a small blurb. -bfh

Looks good. Every time I though I had a story that might be interesting to post in the Reader Submitted Stories, somebody beat me to it.
You guys are right on top of the current news, and I like the way you think.

You mean you’re giving me a place where I can release my diatribe on an ongoing basis without bogging down the comment section on other posts?…wow!
My own little soap box?
You sure you want to do that?

If you notice, I haven’t submitted anything at all yet. And finding and sharing stories and stuff with you guys is something that I greatly enjoy. But since Fur has decided to make us all quasi-contributors, I’m having visions of a Huffington Compost scenario playing out and it kinda makes me hesitant to take part in this experiment because I don’t wanna facilitate the inevitable rift between us. You guys are like my online family and I don’t wanna lose any of you, especially Fur, who would be the one we all turned against when he ends up selling IOTW to some huge media conglomorate for MILLIONS and MILLIONS of dollars and we all get pissed because he won’t “spread the wealth around”!!! I mean he said himself, “That’s right… the true power of iOTW is the commenting community, and you’ve been recognized and rewarded.”! Well internet awards are all fine and dandy, but when the big fat sacks of cash come rolling in, you know we’re all going to start fighting like muslims over the last virgin goat in the province… Heads could very well roll!!! I think we should all sit down and do some collective bargaining now, before the windfall hits, that way hopefully we won’t have to resort to lawyers and horse heads in peoples beds and such. Just saying. I can hear LiR telling Fur now, “You didn’t build that”…
So I’ll just break the ice and get the ball rolling. I know I’m not the “Most” talented or hardest working contributor here, but I do more than “my fair share” that’s for sure. But I’m not some greedy bankster, and I really don’t like to haggle over prices either, so I’ll just lay out my bottom line and be done with it, yall can negotiate over the rest of the money… I’ll be satisfied with 12.4% of the net profit from the eventual sale of IOTW… Or, You can just buy me out now for $1Million, and I’ll agree to stay on as a contributor until such time as the site is sold, or the Obama Administration nationalizes the internet and shuts us down or starts eliminating dissenters!!! And by the way, just in case I haven’t told you guys lately how much I love you, “How ’bout them Lions”!!!

BFH didn’t build this….LOL, couldn’t help it.
Racist, After your 50% capital gains, insurance, attorney fees, unemployment, utilities, soon to be UN taxes, your’e still willing to be a contributor for $180
This is pretty cool and quite briliant on BFHs part.

When BFH makes millions on iOTW, I am gonna invite him to go offshore fishing with me, and stick him with the fuel bill….mostly because I cant afford it….

Can’t fire me–I haven’t posted on the Bullpen yet. That gets you off the unemployment hook, too, #Jack Daniels.

(Perhaps the use of “#” indicates the number of shots of Jack Daniels I was alluding to. See? That’s what the threat of being fired will do to your brain.)

One thing I do miss about the new format is the “Most Pupular” thingy on the sidebar. Now I have no idea how the Danica Patrick naked breast autograph pic is doing. Can that be added on the top…or somewhere?
Funny you should mention that. Mender. That sidebar may change tonight. We are working on improving the navigation, so one of the widgets wont be needed. Then we can bring back “Most Popular.” -bfh

Even as a reader and not always players, why am I fired? Love your site and what you, your mates and readers post. Can I please come back to work? I won’t take a taxpayer dime, promise…(with fingers crossed behind my back).
@Racist – may have missed it in another post but how is your son?

I’m going to post this here since I can’t fit a good description into the bullpen submission section
Remember how crappy the presidential debates were?
This documentary explains why..
———-
2012 – The Commission on Presidential Debates is a private corporation headed by the former chairmen of the Republican and Democratic parties. The CPD is a duopoly which allows the major party candidates to draft secret agreements about debate arrangements including moderators, debate format and even participants. The result is a travesty riddled with sterile, non-contentious arguments which consistently exclude alternative voices that Americans want to hear.
This documentary also reveals the big corporations who “sponsor” the CPD and how third party candidates are purposely excluded. One of these sponsors, Annheiser Busch, is partly owned by Senator John McCain’s wife. Former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura’s election as an independent candidate proves that opening up debates can lead to real change – something the entrenched Republican and Democratic Parties don’t want to see.
It’s only 25 min long and it’s quite informative

I am not able to share iOTW stuff on FB anymore…I don’t want to sign up on the shares.com thingy, is that the only way to share?
I could just add the link, but no pic goes with it….is it just me?

Nevermind. I opened the post, copy and pasted the url to FB and the pic did post. But that was a few extra steps…and people are lazy (well, I am)…

If reply posts seem few, this might be a reason: While you’re busy composing a reply to a post, you decide to click the little +/- gizmo. Your post will disappear and you must start over. On the main page you just click IE’s back arrow and you’re right back where you were, but not on the Bullpen page.
Thanks for all your work, Fur. I guess a PayPal tip is in order.
