Pelosi: ‘Many Members of the Republican Caucus Don’t Believe in Government’

By Penny Starr from CNS News

In an interview on Thursday with National Public Radio, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said that many Republicans do not “believe in government.”

“There are many members in the Republican caucus who do not believe in government,” Pelosi said in an interview with NPR’s Morning Edition host Steve Inskeep. “And bless their hearts, they act upon their beliefs.

“So day to day, we vote here on issues that eliminate government initiatives for clean air, clean water, food safety, public safety, public education, public transportation, public housing, public health, Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security.

“They don’t believe in a public role,” Pelosi said. “And if you don’t believe in a public role, then why do you even have to have taxes to pay for it? … They’re anti-government ideologues, and that’s what the speaker has to deal with.”

“And if you don’t believe in a public role, then why do you even have to have taxes to pay for it?”

You’re right, Nan.  Let’s NOT have taxes!

Another moronic Pelosi rant. The idiots in SFO just eat this crap like candy.

I’m curious about how lame-brained frauline Pelosi is in real life. I have a few die-hard lib Democrat relatives that are Democrats out of a sense of nostalga and family loyalty (they give FDR & JFK stories as reasons they voted for 0bama). Many of these people can be reasoned with.
But then there are the crazy reactionary Libs that have tons of zeal but zero truth or logic like Maxine Waters. I dont think she’s as empty-headed as Waters but probably closer to that end of the scale.

    What do you all think?

Thanks, Unk! Agreed! And this loathesome, plasticized fecal bolus is part of the reason so many of us have given up all hope in “government”.

So, you’re voting to eliminate things that the constitution has denied to the federal gov’t through omission of powers and is actually in the purview of the states.

    I don’t see the problem.

We have some democrats in our government who don’t believe in honesty, honor or the rights of Americans under the Constituion as it stands. They think they have the right to change it to what suits them, and they act on their beliefs.

    Bless… no, damn their souls.

Pelosi acts like the Federal social programs she lists are all wonderful and good. But are they?

We spend billions of dollars on public education for little apparent purpose. We spend billions on public transportation that in many areas, few members of the public use. Arguably, Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid have economically harmed as many people, if not more, than these programs have helped. The clean air and clean water bureaucracies have been taken over by zealots, and may have done as much to retard the manufacturing sector in this country as anything. The most dangerous and dirty areas I have ever seen in my life have been public housing (I remember Cabrini Green). Public health has evolved from making people aware of health concerns to, at least in New York City, banning 32 oz. soft drinks and calls for more legislation to regulate what people eat and drink.

As we cede more and more every day functions and decisions to the government, the basic social structure of every society – the family – is weakened. Our economy is now significantly dependent upon the actions of the government, and this dependence is growing every year. We are creating a permanent underclass dependent upon the largess of government, and far too many people consider themselves victims, members of discriminatory classes, or oppressed by other ordinary Americans seeking to maintain a better life for themselves. And in order to maintain these public services, we have created bureaucracies that exist primarily for the purpose of expanding their power and becoming quasi-governments answerable to basically no one.

People like Pelosi believe that big government is good and benevolent – and only a fool would believe this. Sure, many of these programs were probably started with the best of intentions, but human beings are human beings, and eventually these agencies take on a life of their own with a primary purpose of promulgating and expanding their own existence – frequently at the expense of the people these agencies were created to serve.

The only thing big government demands in return for whatever big government chooses to give you is your freedom. And that is a steep price to pay.

‘Many Members of the Republican Caucus Don’t Believe in Government’

Well, that’s because government has grown so large that it is inefficient. It’s legislators have become wasteful, punitive, arrogant and detestable.

    Government has let Americans down.

Now, what is the response to ‘Many Members of the Democratic Caucus Don’t Believe in God’?

“Believe in Government”? WTH?!? Is that the new religion?

Come to think of it, I DO believe in Government. I believe in Government as the institution of serfdom, enslavement, and tyranny. And I have 5000 years of human history to prove it.

People like Pelosi frustrate me to no end. She represents so much of the ignorance of the left.

To her, “government” means “the part of Federal government that I have power in.”

“Public” means “the part of Federal government that I have power in.”

She has no concept of State, County, or local government, and how much of what she named above should be handled by them.

“There are many members in the Republican caucus who do not believe in government,” blah, blah, blah. If they did not believe in government they would not have run for office.

The correct statement is, “There are many members in the Republican caucus who do not believe in government control of every single facet of the American people’s lives.”
