I wish I had 5 million dollars to spare. I’d buy that in a second. It’s 2 million over the asking price but worth every penny.

Bill Gates funded a 15 million piece photo archive in a cave in Pennsylvania. You would think he could give up some pocket change to include these records.

    I feel his sadness.

We have boxes of vinyl albums as well as several of the 45 cases full of songs. How I miss the richness and depth of music on vinyl.
If only there was a way to address the dust, static and scratch issues….

As for MP3s, ugh! But that is what the youngsters are hooked on becasue Apple has made it so easy to download a song for .99.

Another example of the dumbing down of America.

@jclady — Let’s face facts. You can’t listen to a vinyl album in your car. That’s why cassette tapes became popular. When CDs were introduced, you could play them on your home CD player, your computer (work or home), and in your car. The hat trick of music convenience — you only had to buy one format.

Now with MP3s you can rip the songs you want from CD and then burn your own CDs. If you leave the songs as MP3s you can fit about 80 songs on each CD. Or you just Bluetooth your smartphone to the car’s audio device and play your songs that way.

    It’s just more convenient.

I put all my favorites on CDs in mp3 format so I won’t have to listen to the crap they play on the radio. I can drive half way across the state before the whole CD plays through. LOve it! One CD is much better than having to put all that same music on 8 or 10 cassette tapes.
You can get a USB record player pretty cheap now and put all your albums on CD or SD memory cards.
