Daughters of the American Political Correctness

from Gateway Pundit

The Daughters of the American Revolution, whose motto is “God, home and country”, removed all references to God and Christianity from all of its official books. Chaplains were told to stop using the name of Jesus. The DAR even removed “America the Beautiful” from its official documents because it mentions God.

Good Lord! Good God! Holy heck! When you’ve lost the Daughters of the American Revolution…

What would Molly Pitcher think about this?

Because so many who are eligible for membership come from a non-Christian lineage. NOT.

There may have been some Jewish women eligible (via Haym Solomon and the like), but funny how this controversy only emerged in the post 9/11 era.

What do you want to bet that this is the work of a handful of energetic control mongers who wormed their way into leadership? This will be a test, to see whether the membership rises to the occasion or turns into another liberal mouthpiece. I made sure to notify a friend who is a proud member, hope they fix the problem.

The question was posed to me, “What are they (DAR) gonna do about it?

I ask, “What have the universities, public schools, parents, businesses, associations, churches, courts, government, our president and the general public done about this political correct view that we are no longer a Christian Nation? They are feeding the beast.

As a nation we can support perversity, murder of the unborn, government corruption, illegal immigration, waste, voter fraud, political pork projects, pay to play, lying, stealing, islamic terrorists, deceit and deception……BUT GOD FORBID if we use the Holy Name of Jesus.

I would say Molly Pitcher is standing at the withering Tree of Liberty waiting for a leader.

I worked hard for many years to trace and document my lineage to several Revolutionary War veterans so I could apply for membership to the DAR. This really upsets me. When my membership comes up for renewal I’m cancelling. The sacred memory of my patriotic ancestors deserves nothing less.

I suspect I am no less calm than yourself.

You are right, incrementalism …. there will be more to come.

The drugs of choice for most americans are ignorance, misinformation, apathy and acceptance. There has been an incrementally forced feast for 50+ years.

If now is not the time to push away from the table and stand, will we ever? Maybe the next generation will stand? Or the next.

Oh look…..tearfully, boehner was reelected speaker…That answers my questions.

I called the DAR and asked if it were true. The receptionist, whoe no doubt is an affirmative action hire and whose name most certainly is one of those La, D’, Da, Tra, Qu names so prevalent in Washington DC was a bit flustered and referred me to the DAR website and the statement issued by the DAR president. She wouldn’t answer any questions.

If you read the statement, they categorically deny such but the explanation to me if far worse than the accusation. According to the statement, chaplains are encouraged to use the name of Jesus Christ in prayers. WTH? It mentions that they understand that their Jewish members know God as Jehovah or Yahweh, Muslim members use the name Allah for God and there are those whose spirituality may have a still different higher power or none at all. muslims in the American Revolution–it’s bullshit to the nth degree. The only thing muslims gave this country was Thomas Jefferson’s idea to create the Marine Corps. Our nation was founding under principles of the One True God and the One True God alone and the founders were well aware of it. There was none of this touchy feeling inclusive crap they are trying to justify.

Frankly, I could give a rat’s ass about the DAR, but this attack on my faith and the founding of this nation is going too far. I called back and gave the receptionist a piece of my mind. Fight the left–call 202-628-1776, press 0 for operator.

This country has been undergoing an unarmed invasion from within and without for decades. What was the premise for the Vietnam war that wasted 56,000+ American lives and and 100′s of thoudands more were wounded, both physically and emotionally?

Was it the “Domino” theory, i.e. to stop the spread of Communism in Southeast Asia?

Not only did we get our arses handed to us over there, we’re getting them handed to us over here – on OUR dime!

This once-proud nation has been overrun by godless shitheads that are hellbent to detroy it.

I heard back from my friend, and in fact she had just received an email from DAR saying that the information is false. She also confirmed that her chapter (Santa Monica, CA no less!) continues to use God as much as ever. Here is the email in total, sorry for the length:

    Hey Dan,

Look what I just received (or just got around to reading)

    Dear Members,

NSDAR is disappointed to learn that false and incorrect information has recently been circulated regarding the 2011 edition of the DAR Ritual and Missal and the use of the name Jesus Christ in prayers and other ceremonial events of the National Society. The purpose of this message is to clarify NSDAR’s position on the matter for anyone who has not previously viewed the blogs written by President General Merry Ann T. Wright.

First, the question was posed by a national media group that if the motto of DAR is God, Home and Country, then “…why is DAR taking out references to God…” in its printed material. Nothing could be further from the truth. In fact, as currently written, the 113 page Ritual and Missal contains over 300 references to “Almighty God,” “Great God our King” (America hymn), “Our Heavenly Father,” “Heavenly Father,” “God of Hosts,” “God,” “Lord,” “Eternal God,” “Your Holy Spirit,” “Lord your God,” “Gracious Lord,” “Almighty and Everlasting God,” “Gracious Father,” and similar variations.

Second, the allegation has been leveled that Chaplains and others have been told not to pray in the name of Jesus Christ. Again, this is an absolute falsehood. Each Chaplain and other officers are strongly encouraged to create their own prayers into which they may insert the name of Jesus Christ as deemed appropriate for the occasion and the audience. This is what the President General wrote in her blog of April 10, 2012 when questions about the change to the Ritual and Missal first arose:

The Executive Officers believe that the new Ritual and Missal can be used by members of any faith, substituting words as they wish, changing the prayers to suit the needs of the meeting in which they are being used. At our Executive meetings, knowing that we are all Christian, we pray in the Name of Jesus. When those are present whose faith is unknown, we pray in God’s name. However, we all recognize that when Christians pray in God’s name we are, indeed, praying in Christ’s name because the Christian faith believes in the Trinity of God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We also understand that our Jewish members know God as Jehovah or Yahweh, Muslim members use the name Allah for God and there are those whose spirituality may have a still different higher power or none at all.

We have in no way mandated that one must or must not use the name of Jesus Christ in the prayers. In our DAR rituals, prayers are included. Most of the prayers begin with “Our Father” or “Almighty God” and end “in Your Holy Name.” Christ’s prayer, known as The Lord’s Prayer, the prayer of St. Francis of Assisi, Easter and Passover prayers and prayers for other religious observances are included.

The above passage also addresses the last major falsehood: that the name of Christ has been totally removed from the Ritual and Missal. That simply is not the case.

In promoting the importance of freedom of religion upon which our country was founded, our Founding Fathers intended for all religions and not one specific faith to be allowed and respected. The Constitution of the United States of America is clear on this issue as are many of the letters and writings of these great leaders. It was in spirit of our Founding Fathers desire for freedom of religion that the most recent changes to the Ritual and Missal were made. For those wishing to access prayers, songs, poems, etc. from past Rituals and Missals, they have all previously been posted to the website and are available for use by all members at: Forms & Publications – Ritual and Missal http://members.dar.org/publ_forms/?List=Rit_and_Miss
