Senators Got 154-Page ‘Fiscal Cliff’ Bill 3 Minutes Before Voting on It
(CNSNews.com) – The U.S. Senate voted 89-8 to approve legislation to avoid the fiscal cliff despite having only 3 minutes to read the 154-page bill and budget score.
Multiple Senate sources have confirmed to CNSNews.com that senators received the bill at approximately 1:36 AM on Jan. 1, 2013 – a mere three minutes before they voted to approve it at 1:39 AM.
The bill is 154-pages and includes several provisions that are unrelated to the fiscal cliff, including repealing a section of ObamaCare, extending the wind-energy tax credit, and a rum tax subsidy deal for Puerto Rican rum makers.

Business as usual for congress. They pass bills to find out what’s in them in Washington.

A pox on all their houses.
Not only is the 3 minutes a total joke, the fact that someone wrote a 154 page bill of new laws loaded with extra pork and completely unreleated additional subsidies, and then…and then, basically the entire group of elected “representatives” not only agree to vote, but actually show-up and abide by these terms.
Hey government, when are you actually going to get serious and stop these charades. I’m disgusted that they are fiddling while Rome burns.

My guess is that the bill was written many months ago (just as the oscumacare bill probably first had been written during Wilson’s term). The only question in my mind is whether they had already read it by, say, August, and are honing their Kabuki skills or whether they really are so completely corrupt, stupid and gutless that they let themselves be chivvied into voting for it in the dark.
Exactly, Jimmy and Tim!
I wonder what version of the Reichstag fire the (d)s will try to engineer in the next three years?
Just because you’re “paranoid” doesn’t mean they’re not out to get you.

why does anyone think they need to read the entire bill to vote on yes on it.
i am sure the “yes votes” read enough of the bill to make sure the parts they proposed are in it. so they now can exploit, through insider trading, the new spending in order to skim their share of the graft and have it deposited in their off shore bank accounts.
you would not think they would vote yes on anything that held no bennefit for them finacially do you?

That’s 2:45 minutes longer than they usually take to consider major legislation. Why the need for such in depth deliberation?

They had a full three minutes? That’s longer than usual. Right?

Does it really take 3 minutes to read — raise taxes, cut nothing, and spend like a socialist?

Here’s another little added benefit. Today’s payroll. First week of January. Nobody has figured out or seen the new rates. Priceless.

When will the citizens of this country finally stand and come forward to oppose these people who call themselves our representatives. We are seeing the most deceitful, lying group of individuals in all segments of our government. One of the most significant is the President of the United States, the ring leader of it all.
