It’s Atzmännig in Switzerland. I grew up just on the other side of the mountain. It’s a very popular local ski area in the winter.

I like the engineering thought process that decided to provide the fail safe “chicken” wire containment mechanism at the 3 G curves. It must be comforting to know that if your car derails from the track you will be softly cuddled in a tangle of high tensile flesh ripping safety netting.

It used to be just a slide, you’d ride up to the top with the chair lift, get handed a piece of carpet, and slide down the hill. It was a blast when we were kids, admission was like a Frank Fifty, so about 80 cents or so back then.
They rebuilt the slide and made it this roller coaster and it’s really really cool, it goes on for minutes, as you can tell by the video length. Also the scenery is just fantastic. And the hiking…

That was a long ass ride. I would have greatly appreciated something like that after hiking up the other side and just too exhausted to hike down.
