And keep your thoughts and prayers with the man in the front seat, as well.

Two heroes and true Americans.
RIP, General Schwarzkopf.
Prayers are with GHWB.
Stormin’ Norman will be missed. Not so sure about the other guy and his New World Order.
Stormin’ Norman was a bigger than life military hero.
Central Casting couldn’t have come up with anybody better to command Desert Storm.
When I heard the anchorette on Fox speaking in hushed tones, I was really afraid that it was that other guy.
Yes…prayers are in order.
My fav Stormin’ Norman quote (from memory):
“I have almost convinced my Wife that somewhere in the Bible it says ‘A man cannot own too many fishing pole or shotguns’”
Stormin’ Norman – what a brave, smart man. He was right General at the right time. So sorry to see him go – but I’m betting he’s happier where he is now. Prayers for the family he left behind. Prayers too for President Bush.
@Menderman – good one!
FreeMan & Sarah Intend to Defend
Strange that they may die together on the same day.
Norm was right, we were over there and should have taken out the trash then and there. He was our Patton. But “wouldn’t be prudent” sided with the UN.
For Herbert Norman Schwarzkopf:
Day is done, gone the sun,
From the hills, from the lake,
From the sky.
All is well, safely rest,
God is nigh.
Go to sleep, peaceful sleep,
May the soldier or sailor,
On the land or the deep,
Safe in sleep.
Love, good night, Must thou go,
When the day, And the night
Need thee so?
All is well. Speedeth all
To their rest.
Fades the light; And afar
Goeth day, And the stars
Fare thee well; Day has gone,
Night is on.
Thanks and praise, For our days,
‘Neath the sun, Neath the stars,
‘Neath the sky,
As we go, This we know,
God is nigh.
Sig, is this really the time and the place?
Aunt Liz Ditto to what you said.
He’s probably helping his dad look for Linburg’s baby
@Pearl Clutcher — agree.
For the moment, I’ll refrain from telling you what I really think about that comment, but please read my mind, and don’t tell me that what I am thinking is a phisical impossibility, just do it.
His wife is from hereabouts.
Didn’t know that until I ran into them in a local pizza place.
Got to shake his hand.
Requiscat in pace, warrior…
Jack, then Charles, now Stormin’ Norman.
Is God taking all the good guys (that can’t fight anymore) before the shit hits the fan?
Do what is right, not what you think the high headquarters wants or what you think will make you look good.
Too bad Obama didn’t take his advice there. Norman was a true patriot and a brave soldier.
Where have all the good guys gone??..and why did they leave us with an asshole in charge?
RIP Stormin’ Norman..you will be missed!!
I hope George H has a long and painful road to death.
Boobie the Rocket Dog
Never met Schwarzkopf but when GWHB was Vice President he visited the hospital where I was working in Riyadh. I knew he’d be there so made up a little 8½x11 sign that said BUSH ’88 and held it over the sea of ghuttra-swathed heads when he entered the room. He saw it, had his guys part the sea so to speak, came over, shook my hand and said thank you. My two Scottish buddies beside me were, as they say, gobsmacked.
MNP, that takes the cake for the nastiest shit I have ever seen posted by a commenter on iowntheworld.
@MNP — Take those comments to a lefty site. They are not welcome here.
MNP, I am not gonna ask you to read my mind, I’ll just come right out and say it:
Go FUCK yourself!
True american Patriots are going to miss you Mr. Schwarzkopf sir.
May you rest in piece, and thank you for all you did for america.
My friend dated the man who was Schwarzkopf’s speechwriter during the Gulf War. He was present when the general was told that an Iraqi missile hit a barrack in Dhahran, killing 28 American Army Reservists. He says Schwarzkopf wept like a greiving father. His love for his troops was unquestionable.
“His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’
Well done indeed Sir,very well indeed.
MNP, the worst part is you muddying up the thread about a true hero. Sure, hate Bush, I really don’t care, but you didn’t do your wife at the church did ya?
When did the Westboro church start commenting on IOTW?
That one hurt Crusty.
My heart bleeds.
Dont blog drunk.
MNP, what the fuck are you running on about?
Iran Contra?? Humm that ain’t shit has been surpassed by Fast and Furious (sidenote: heroically Ironic Iran Contra freed hostages)
Hurrican Andrew??? GTF outta here with that.
Panama?? Are you referring to Panama Canal that Jimmy Carter gave away.
Better yet spare me what all your dribble actually means.
I can’t figure if you have short memories or selective memories.
Still want to know what menderman was talking about. Something about sex in church?
Less Bait=Less Troll
Not when your fishing.
MNP, what in the hell are you doing buddy?
Not makin any friends I’ll tell you what.
I was in the USAF stationed at Ft. Stewart 1983 – 1985 when Gen. Schwarzcopf was Post Commander there. We got to greet and salute him on FTX at Ft. Irwin, CA (NTC). The entire 24th Mech Inf Div deployed to NTC and some miscommunications had all units bring the woodland instead of desert cammo nets for concealing vehicles. The General arrived in his helo, circled the Divisions positions and called his subordinate officers to a meeting. Word was that he chewed their asses about the allowing the wrong cammo nets to be brought into the field and finished the session by sayin that if they wanted to learn how to put up cammo nets, look up towards the dry wash at those Air Force boys because they know how it’s done. Not a kind reference for the Army officers to be told that the AF can do better than the Army.
OK, MNP, You got married right? Did you wait to start the honeymoon to consummate it…did you bang you bride on the alter in front of her dad, the preist and all the invited guests?
There is a time and a place for everything, and this thread is about honoring a hero and IS NOT the place to spew hatred, deserved or not, at others….I even feel stupid for engaging you and wasting even more space on this thread that is intended to be a remembrance for one of my personal heros
@ Menderman: SPOT ON!
Menderman, MNP’s a patriot, you know it, I know it. We’ve all been there. Talk to him tomorrow. MNP go to bed bro.
I did honor Stormin Norman.
I did’nt realise that you consider the man who is personaly responsible for the down fall of manufacturing in America a hero.
Pearl Clutcher, Just so you know, when the shit starts I would want this guy close. He’s having a bad night. I think I might be guilty of that. I live in Cali. might get bad yet.
It is a full moon tonight…
Fur, class act showing a younger picture of an American hero. I’ve always gotten so pissed when someone of notoriety dies and the media shows a picture of him when he was near death. I always think, why not remember them when they were in there prime. It’s almost seems deliberate and insulting. That dude was hell on wheels.
MNP, I’ll engage you if you want, but not here…move it to the sticky if you want to continue.
Brad Brad, I will take you at your word that he is not a troll then, but his hate for Bush I can not relate to and it comes across as liberal gibberish to me. And if he is having a bad day, well I hope things get better for him.
@ MNP regarding your comment that Bush is the man who is personally responsible for the downfall of manufacturing in this county I say so what am I suppose to get weepeyed when perhaps he was forward thinking and putting union workers out of jobs?
MNP. I gotcha now. You know I always said it took one term of ghb and two terms of Clinton to destroy Reaganomics. Non of he Bushs were all that smart in my opinion. But this guy was a hero. Part of the greatest generation. I’ll give him respect for that. It was Clinton that killed our livelyhood, not this guy. Last Clinton did leaving office was most favored trading partner with China. Clinton sold us out to help his buddy Sam Walton. He’s the dude.
Pearl Clutcher, MNP and I make our living the same way. We manufacture precision machined parts. And we have both been fucked. Along with a host of others. Talk to Rando too. So we get liquored up and get pissed. MNP’s there tonight.
Brad Brad my apologies for mocking the industry yourself and others are in. I still think wishing George Bush a painful death is disgusting especially considering the condition he is in.
RIP General…..You were a great man and testament to this country!!!
Pearl Clutcher. I can’t disagree. I keep replaying that video of him in my mind of him climbing off his shot down aircraft. That generation is second to none and we should all try and live up to them. One more thing MNP and I are so far away from any type of union it would make your head spin. I’m an owner and I know he at the least manages. We both now unions suck.
December 28th, 2012
know, damn it
Who’s drunk now?
That would be me.
Made an everclear screwdiver about the time Menderman said to go to the sticky.
That sounds gay.
MNP Half a bottle of Jack Daniels Honey. Need to stop and hit the rack. Working tomorrow. After the New Years we’re gonna stop feeling sorry for our dumb asses and go on the attack. There’s still good work out there. And before you call me a pussy, I started drinking that shit cause my stomachs been acting up. Good night Bro.
Woaaup there doggie. I’m stayin’ outta this stuff. I admired both men. Menderman makes sense, as always. Good night brothers.
