Our Commenters Are So Good They Get Quoted At Other Blogs!
I was reading the marvelous site, The Conservative Treehouse and stumbled on this -
cajunkelly says:
borrowed this comment from over at iOTW, re the awful video game about little children in school. It fits here as well:
You know, I can’t help but wonder how much worse the world was back in the time of Noah that God felt it necessary to flood the whole stinking place.
!snip!
That comment was from our own Diann. Well done!

@Diann: At some point, you have had enough accolades about your comments. Or maybe not.

According to rabbinical literrature, the sins were mostly of shamelessness:
“They were proud and therefore shameless, parading the earth in a state of absolute nudity. They were licentious and lascivious, so that even the animals followed their example. They were robbers; in daytime they marked the houses of the rich with balsam, to find them by means of the odor in the dark. They denied God.
A respite of 120 years was granted that Methuselah might complete his allotted life; after his death seven more days were allowed as days of mourning. During these seven days God changed the natural order of things, converting day into night and vice versa, to remind the wicked of their perversion.
[...]
As the waters rose the true character of Noah’s contemporaries became evident; with extreme cruelty they hurled their own children into the abyss in an endeavor to stay therising flood. To convince these robbers and murderers that they could not destroy the ark, Noah had to enter it in full daylight.”

Good point, even steven.
One thing that bugs me about the treehouse site is that they frequently use posts from here WITHOUT accreditation.
Do they think people don’t notice?
