A ‘dad’ is tenth most popular Christmas list request for children
A ‘dad’ is tenth most popular Christmas list request for children with youngsters happy to forgo the latest iPad, toy or new pet, a survey has found.

When it comes to Christmas, it might be safe to assume children will ask Santa for an extensive list of toys, games and treats.
But a survey of their typical lists for Father Christmas has shown many have more serious concerns, requesting “a dad” instead.
A study of 2,000 British parents found most children will put a new baby brother or sister at the top of their Christmas list, closely followed by a request for a real-life reindeer.
A “pet horse” was the third most popular choice, with a “car” making a bizarre entry at number four.
Despite their material requests, the tenth most popular Christmas wish on the list was a “Dad”.

A Dad and a stick of rock? Sounds like Detroit-on-the-Thames.

This makes me really sad for a couple reasons. One, the obvious, that kids know what they are missing in their families (a strong authoritarian male role model), and two, that they are asking someone other than Mom.
Yes, there are instances where Dad leaves (death or an impossible-to-live-with nag), but I bet most of these kids are of women with low morals (meaning they may not even know who the Dad is) or the Dad is one of many males (I hate to call them men) who father kids indiscriminately and on to the next…

This may be the product of women who don’t need men in their lives and substitute children for companionship. Maybe we can blame women’s lib for this. We’ve read stories here of women on welfare with multiple children from multiple fathers. Those children will most likely follow in their mother’s footsteps. Men do not care that they spread their sperm here and there, because the government will take care of the kids. This is what pisses me off the most.
