Luke, I Am Your Brother
I read a story a couple of days ago about a young man in Australia that was relegated to the back row for a class picture. The kid’s name was Luke Smith. He’s 11. I’ve been in the back row, we all have. But we can stand.
Look at this picture -
I have no idea what this school was thinking. This is idiotic and the Smith family was saddened and outraged. So am I.
Luke, I know this isn’t the same as having your picture taken with your mates in the proper way, but I just had to do this, if only to show you that there are people around the world that are thinking of you today. And I’m pitying you, not in the way you think, though. I pity you that we have to share this planet with people who are beyond stupid. In this sense, you are my brother.

This is the result of Progtardia getting all twisted around on itself.
Progtard initial impulse was to put Luke up front, but then proglogic kicked in and said “no, then you’re treating him differently because he’s disabled.”
“Oh no, I said ‘disabled’ when I meant ‘differently abled! He has to go in the back or else he’ll be a victim of society’s tendency to coddle the ambulatorily-challenged!”
And so he got put in the back, so he wouldn’t be made to feel different because of his wheelchair. And no one can see him as a result. Its as if he wasn’t there. Which is what Progtardia probably prefers.

The school’s “excuse” was that the kids were arranged in alphabetical order. If true, that just makes it worse! What kind of idiot teacher or photographer would do that?

Fur, very cool, and oh by the way, burned a Everly Brothers CD for the ride in. I harmonize real well with them on Cathy’s Clown. Well not really, I sound like a cat in a blender, but all the same I forgot about those guys.
