Gather the Family for The Christmas Music Quiz
VIA JETHRO:
This is a multiple choice quiz inspired by the idea that everyone who collects Christmas albums winds up with multiple versions of the same songs. But do we know which artists have the distinction of recording those songs first?
Below are twenty-five Christmas songs. Select the artist who first recorded each song from the choices we’ve provided. The choices aren’t random: each is an artist, duo, or group who has recorded that song. Who knows, maybe you’ll discover some new versions of old favorites to add to your collection.
I’ve linked the song title to the original versions. Merry Christmas. -bfh

Once again I am totally fed up with Chirstmas tunes ( except for Father Chirstmas and Dead Saint Nick) so I don’t care.

My favorite Christmas song — O Holy Night sung by Josh Groban. A great version.
Also, Blue Christmas but not the version by Elvis. This one is by Vince Gil. Forgive the commercial at the beginning.

I started to answer (I had most of them right), but I have a houseful of people to attend. I will include a link to my favorite version of Greensleeves. And I AM putting a character after the link, so if it doesn’t work again, I don’t know what to do.

I got 19 out of 25. Not too bad, tho, since there were some names I had never heard of (Richard Himber?).
This was fun.
Gotta go, my pumpkin pie smells done.

I dunno..I kinda liked the Dean Martin version of “let it snow” probably because he sounded like he was drunk and wasted while singing it..
