    Bing Crosby, Bob Hope, John Wayne, et al., gone and replaced by A-holes like Ben Afleck and Matt Damon.

    I have lived in America for forty years and I have always said to anyone who’ll listen, if I could pick a time and place and person to be, it would be the fifties in America as a WASP male. That was truly the pinnacle of existence.

    Boy, that brings back memories. Here is a house I spent a few Christmas’ in as a kid when we got transferred to New York in the 70′s:

    The house is pretty famous now, but fun for a kid who didn’t care or know about politics. We would go out in the woods and pick a tree almost as tall as the stone chimney on the right and put it up inside right in front of the huge fireplace.
