I’m a big Aimee Mann fan. Here’s a hilarious music video that came out a few months ago, but I missed it at the time. Better late than never.

    Kairn,

I like people who can laugh at themselves and poke fun at what they once thought was the absolute cutting edge “artistically.”

More “celebrities” should have so much humility. So, yes, on that level it was hilarious.

I’m as secure in the knowledge that my playlist is as superior to yours as you are that yours is superior to mine.

And that’s the way it should be, right?

    @Xavier
I watched it them both. I liked that song and video in its day. The remake was only mildly amusing. Not hilarious.

I am teasing BigFur about that Boobs video from a few days ago. Which was quite funny. BigFur didn’t think it was ‘hilarious’.

There in lies our difference of opinion about the meaning of the word hilarious.

But I do think we agree on how to have fun giving and taking innocent ribbings. All in good sport, eh Fur? ;-)

    Up Yours! ;) -bfh

Outlaws, best band I’ve ever seen. Green Grass and High Tides. Kind a red neck, but damn musically they were awesome.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?gl=FR&v=RLq7Aqd_H7g&hl=fr

It’s true that all the men you knew were dealers
who said they were through with dealing
Every time you gave them shelter.
I know that kind of man
It’s hard to hold the hand of anyone
who is reaching for the sky just to surrender.

And then sweeping up the jokers that he left behind
you find he did not leave you very much
    not even laughter
Like any dealer he was watching for the card
that is so high and wild
he’ll never need to deal another
He was just some Joseph looking for a manger.

Thank you for the Boz Scaggs link. It has truly been a long time since I have heard his music.

As for Neil Young, I just can’t be convinced to appreciate his immense talent and fantastic vocal skills (snort). He’s been around and I’ve been around a long time. We’ve tried to find a middle ground over the years. But alas, we had to admit we’ll never be compatible.

Kairn, BFH, Gee thanks for the highlight (link) to John Gorka. Very nice.
He reminds me of my pal from Tucson, Michael Dues, who was a good singer and songwriter and brought that spiritual lift you can get sometimes get around a campfire, a living room or a small cafe. Always nice to know someone is singing or writing a story that was very close to the one you went through in life.

Uh uh. Like you guys are trying to get me to snort a line or something.

Maybe there is something about my hearing that goes beyond what the rest of you guys hear. Neil Young=fingernails on a chalkboard to me. Oh, the pain, the pain.

FUR, 8 years ago exactly, I was sitting at Kemo’s in Maui at sunset listening to a pretty good band doing this song watching the wind blow the mist off the top of the waves towards us thinking it doesn’t get any better then this. It didn’t.

Dammit, Pearl Clutcher, the idea won’t work.
You know why? Because progtards would abuse it and probably get us in trouble.
I was going to make an iOTW commenting community youtube playlist.
I would publish the password and you guys could add to the playlist and then I could post the link on Sundays.
But progtards would fart on our birthday cake and mess the playlist up and possibly upload illegal content.

Once again, the world is ruined by the very existence of the left.

And thank you for shutting out Led Zeppelin, the Beatles, The Who, Pink Floyd. Lets deal with the great stuff that was posted here tonight. Great music. Oh yeah, of course I’m familiar with the Yard Birds. Herman’s Hermits too.

When you first heard the Yard Birds could you have ever imagined a day where you would be using some crazy electronic device that would let you go to a thing called YouTube to find an almost endless library of your favorite music and share those selections with people you have never seen who live way far away from you on a Saturday night?

I sure didn’t, way back when. I sure have enjoyed going down memory lane tonight with all the wonderful music selections you and others have shared tonight.
