Bitch slap USA Today and Eric Holder
Attorney General Holder says, “WE HAVE NO RIGHT TO POSSESS GUNS”
TAKES 10 SECONDS … DO IT AND PASS IT ON.
Guess they were not happy with the poll results the first time, so USA today is running another one…Vote now… Attorney General Eric Holder, has already said this is one of his major issues. He does not believe the 2nd Amendment gives individuals the right to bear arms. This takes literally 2 clicks to complete. Please vote on this gun issue question with USA Today. Then pass the link on to all the pro-gun folks you know. Hopefully the results will be published later this month.
Here’s what you need to do: First – vote.
Second – Send it to other folks,
then we will see if the results get published.

Why do we care about the opinion of a criminal thug?

I think gun owners are going about this the wrong way. Instead of vehemently opposing gun control, folks need to just shut up and pretend they have no guns. Let the gun control hoard thump their chest and bleat all they want without so much as a single response from the gun rights side.
You see this would send a very powerful and clear message. In essence it would say; “Come and get them.”
The gun control lobby will crumble as they realize the idiocy of their desire.

Of course the leading legal authority of the administration doesn’t believe that we have the right to defend ourselves from these bastards.

@ old_oaks,
I think free-speakers are going about this the wrong way. Instead of vehemently demanding the right to speak freely, folks need to just shut up and pretend we have nothing to say. Let the “you-can’t say that” hoard thump their chest and bleat all they want to without so much as a single response from the free speech side…
You see, this would send a powerful and clear message. In essence it would say, “you win.”

Have you ever gotten your Carry Permit? You list the guns and Serial numbers you want to carry. They know the rest you own. There’s no hiding them unless its un registered.

At the time of my voting, rounded down, 97 percent of 12 million equals: 11,640,000. At this percentage rate applied roughly to 50 percent of current bracket of ages 15-64 (both male and female combined), which is 209 million of the total population of the US, and with that 50% is a total for our side roughly 104 million times 97 percent means: population in US (our half of course, not the Liberal side) equates to about: 100 MILLION PEOPLE who would love to “correct you” and remedy the “failure to communicate” by blowing your ass away if you think they ought not to have guns. +- margin of error is NONE!!!

Maybe Holder should be replaced with an Attorney General who has read the United States Constitution.
Oh, and the poll still stands at 97% yes. This is almost like a Philadelphia district voting percentage.

I’m in favor of making opinions known but I also think that it will do about as much good as taking a public poll about the annexation of Austria in 1938 Gernany.

Yeah. Not rushing to get my comment in but, because when I see a “writing prompt” in my mind, I really rush to put a paragraph together ASAP before I lose my thoughts. Most of the time I make a million errors but, I still get it out.

How many gun owners are there in the United States of America?
Answer:
Number of guns and gun owners in USA.
Most estimates range between 39% and 50% of US households having at least one gun (that’s about 43-55 million households). The estimates for the number of privately owned guns range from 190 million to 300 million. Removed those that skew the stats for their own purposes the best estimates are about 45% or 52 million of American households owning 260 million guns).
Continuing….
Some recent estimates:
A 2011 Gallup poll estimates that 47 percent of US households own a gun.
A 2007 Small Arms Survey estimates there are 88.7 guns per 100 Americans (#1 in the world for guns per capita)
A 2010 estimate from the NRA states “Privately owned firearms in the U.S.: Approaching 300 million, including nearly 100 million handguns. The number of firearms rises over 4 million annually.”
I think like in the poll, a very high percentage of these gun owners would reckon the 2nd Amendment to be the right to bear arms for the population in general.

Brad, we can’t carry in IL, lived here my whole life. You live in CA and that is one of the worst places to go through a carry process, other states are more lenient. However, there’s no registration of guns here in IL, sure there’s the NICS check and I dunno if they pass along a serial number. But I can legally sell the gun the next day, if I wanted to and still not be a straw purchaser because I find a buyer after the fact. Depending upon the sale location and prevailing law I may never need to keep any record of the sale. In the end, the gun is gone and no longer my responsibility.

The Texas shall-issue permit has no place to register the handguns you carry. There is NO gun registration in Texas other than federal Form 4473 which is kept at the point of sale with the FFL, available for inspection by a BATFE examiner.
The only reason to make a list of gun owners and the weapons they own is to confiscate them. There is no other reason.
Don’t ever, ever, ever register a weapon with any government entity. Ever.

I don’t see it that way Jack.
Once military vehicles start parading down suburban streets holding good folk’s head to the sidewalk at gun point in an effort to collect guns, it will be proven how difficult the task is.

The first time the Hum-vees with mounted miniguns come down the street, 90% of gun owners will turn them over with out a fight and their neighbors will rat the rest out.
There will be some die hards that will be exterminated vilently and that will scare the rest of the people into submission.
People are more concerned with their belly being full and the roof over their head than the 2nd amendment.

Go to the USA Today article (dated 12/21) as linked by BadBrad (his is about the 13th comment from the top). The CURRENT poll is on the right-hand side of the page.
As of 6:52pm Eastern time on Sunday, 12/23/12, that CURRENT poll shows 51% “strongly agree” with the USA Today editorial (in favor of ‘doing something’ about limiting the availability of those terrible- awful- nasty- killer- guns to the mouth-breathing rabble of flyover country); 28% “strongly disagree”. I don’t see a total number of votes cast anywhere in the results shown.
Be sure to vote in the CURRENT poll; I strongly doubt that USA Today is going to pay attention to updates of a poll from 2007.

You ALL are being had. The correct answer is NO. The second amendment does not give anybody a right. Rights come from a Higher Authority.
