Never did it.
My brother in law almost killed himself doing this with his parent’s first microwave back in the 70′s. After hearing his story I knew better.
Word of caution: I have not personally verified, but a reliable source tells me that it is extreemly hard to get the soap smell out of the microwave after this.
Yeah, I’m not gonna try that and have the rest of my food taste like Ivory.
Glad someone has found a “use” for microwave ovens. We threw ours out (literally) after studies came out proving that the radiation alters the molecular structure of food and liquids so that the body DOES NOT recognize it as food or liquid, and WILL NOT metabolize it. Wonder why you are obese? It is because your body craves nourishment and can’t get any out of microwaved food, therefore, it tells you to keep eating, hoping you’ll eventually throw something down your gullet it can use. That other crap gets encapsulated by fat molecules as part of the body’s natural defense, protecting itself from foreign substances. Don’t believe me? You can look it up.
@Roadmaster — After a six month-long remodel of our kitchen, I would clutch my stomach while walking the frozen entree’ isle. Could. Not. Stand. To. Eat. Another. Microwave. Meal. We built a special, prewired place in our new kitchen for one, but never got around to putting one in. That was over a decade ago and I don’t think I’ve used a microwave oven since. Glad to have the info. Thanks.
We replaced it with a nifty little toaster/convection oven. Slower but makes great brownies/cookies/dinner rolls and does great with pizza.
The only thing I miss about the microwave is when my coffee gets cold, I can’t zap it back up to “operating” temperature.
