The media has it wrong. They are limiting the discussion to “guns,” – intentionally.

“The media has it wrong.”
I’m convinced that is the case at all times now and only rarely do they get something right.
Stranded in Sonoma
I agree, Grayscape. If anyone in the media told me that the sun came up today, I would go outside to verify.
I agree with Rush. This isn’t about the 2nd Amendment so much as it is about nullifying the entire Constitution. The media are at best complicit in this or, at worse, useful idiots to the Left’s ultimate agenda.
And if I sound like Cassandra howling prophesies, so be it.
Obama and the Left want to “fundamentally transform” this country by making our Founding Documents obsolete.
Michelle did say Barack would change our history. Looks like he’s doing a good job.

Kehoe, the Bath School bomber, did in fact use a gun. However, he used his gun to blow up his truck which then killed Kehoe and a couple of other folks.
Of course, he did blow up a wing of the school using only explosives, and which killed about 40 people, but to a liberal that’s just nitpicking.
J Frank Parnell
An NRA lifer, seen the DNC go after guns since the 70s. My TV broke a few weeks before Sandy Hook. Amazing how wisdom and the lack of Meme-Shaping video narrative provides clarity and understanding.
A lesson here.
does that include harry truman’s handywork in hiroshima and nagasaki?
As I was sitting in church last Sunday, bowing my head after communion, it came to me with blinding clarity. Now, don’t “duh” me if you’ve known this to be true for years. I think I did, too, but I couldn’t quite articulate it.
The reason why Godless Leftists come off so frustratingly arrogant and are completely unreachable over their belief that they are always right and know what is best for the rest of (mostly conservative, God-fearing) us, is because, in the absence of belief in a superior deity, they truly believe they are responsible for their own perfection and that they are ultimately perfectable. I had to think about that for a moment and try to understand how such an obvious thought was any different then, then a few moments before. And here is what seemed so clear: If you believe yourself to be the only one responsible for your perfection, what happens if you are placed in a position where you are plainly, undeniably wrong? Hmm. I had to think about the actions of a child — and the Left does like to idolize the idea of “child like”-ness; not the actual child, but the Jungian concept of archetypes (of which the Left is also fond). Anyone who has spent any time around children knows for a fact that they can conjure up the most fantastic stories in order to avoid punishment for their crimes. In other words, if one is able to achieve perfection under their own power or believes that others are perfectable, given the right laws, then to be otherwise or for humanity to show a stubborn resistance to “change” that would bring about perfectablility, would cause no end of frustration and anger at “those stupid people who just won’t cooperate!”
I don’t want to get all pendantic or philosophical here and I hope my point is clear enough. In my musings I thought about what would it feel like to think that I must always be right or, in being wrong, reveal my inability to be perfectable under my own power. It seemed to explain a lot about the behavior of the Left. When they are wrong they: Lie about it, dismiss whatever it was as insignificant (a “distraction”), accuse people of being evil and mean-spirited (not “playing fair”), accuse people of the very thing they are perpetrating (racism, sexism, misogyny), run away (remember those WI legislators who fled to IL?), and hide behind “the children.”
Now the lying, mean-spirited, racist, sexist, misognystic, cowards are, again, using “the children” as their excuse for taking more liberty from us who refuse to play nice and join them in their childish fantasies of human perfectability.
@deli-doug – Do you think it was wrong for the US to stop the warmongering Japanese fascists who had invaded several asian countries and raped and murdered millions of human beings?
…or perhaps you are a cold heartless racist fascist yourself?
Why do I have a feeling you got a woody seeing pics of children screaming in terror…
Okay, I won’t “duh” ya.
But how about this?
Sorry about that. I couldn’t resist.
Nice comment, btw.
@deli-doug Oh, for God’s sake, the next time you plan to educate us poor idiots about U.S. History, try reading up on your subject. McCullough’s excellent “Truman” would be a good place to start. I suspect you are impervious to facts and are just parroting the utter nonsense promulgated by that facist, left-wing organization that teaches HS teachers how to teach a fantasy version of WWII in the Pacific. Or maybe you didn’t know that the Japanese bombed the west coast and its people took a vow to fight to the last Japanese citizen.
Hey Mr. Hat! Glad to know someone actually reads my tripe. This site is lot easier than getting out pen and paper and recording my ridiculous stream-of-concsiousness tracts. You should see me at parties, I’m just a barrel of fun. “What do you think about . . .”
The part I left out was it seems equally obvious that most progtards haven’t even thought through what it is they say they believe, because if they had they’d have realized a long time ago that the whole idea of human perfectability — under their own power or not — can’t be achieved. They are living proof of that. And that’s what makes them so frustrated and makes them continually double down on the idea. It makes me think of another one of their fantasies, that “Communism has never really been tried, because it’s never been executed according to the pure theory.”
I was shocked to see that Kehoe was obviously mentally ill.
kinda just being a smartass
Hey DeliDoug…Pull my finger…
Abigail: Aren’t those ‘ah-ha’ moments great?!
“In my musings I thought about what would it feel like to think that I must always be right or, in being wrong, reveal my inability to be perfectable under my own power.”
Excellent and well stated analysis!
