The Django Unchained director spoke at a press conference in New York a day after Friday’s Connecticut massacre

In the wake of Friday’s shootings at a school in Connecticut which left 26 dead, arts events across America were cancelled.

But director of ultra-violent film Django Unchained went ahead with a press junket on Saturday, and went on to remark that he is tired of defending his films every time American is rocked by gun violence.

Speaking in New York Quentin Tarantino said: “I just think you know there’s violence in the world, tragedies happen, blame the playmakers. It’s a western. Give me a break.”

The Oscar-nominated director of Inglourious Basterds and the Palme d’Or winning Pulp Fiction, said blame for violence should remain squarely with the perpetrators.

At the weekend both the Jack Reacher andParental Guidance film premieres were cancelled in response to Friday’s massacre.

Reacher, which stars Tom Cruise, features a sniper attack. A spokesman for Paramount Pictures said: “Due to the terrible tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut, and out of honour and respect for the families of the victims whose lives were senselessly taken, we are postponing the Pittsburgh premiere of Jack Reacher. Our hearts go out to all those who lost loved ones.”

In the 1950s, Rod Serling wrote a book about an airliner being hijacked. The plane had a bomb on board that would explode if the altitude dropped below a preset height. The eventual answer was to land the plane in Denver because it was almost a mile above sea level. Authorities then disarmed the bomb.

In the 1960s, a rash of airliner hijackings were blamed on Serling and at first, he was a bit apologetic. Then he got defensive and said it was not his fault that crazy people hijack airplanes. He wrote a thriller novel and can’t be blamed for the actions of another.

This kind of BS has been going on for a long time. If we want to blame society, fine. I’ll blame the massive infusion of socialism into this country for just about anything. But it is not the fault of movies and books and TV shows.

Tarantino said “blame for violence should remain squarely with the perpetrators.” Quentin turns conservative just long enough to defend his movie.

Next time your sitting home on a week end, trapped in doors due to weather. Start flipping thru the channels and count how many movies DON’T have a fire arm in them. It’s actually pretty amazing.

THAT, Crusty, is the money shot.
Certainly Tarantino wasn’t out making fun of Michael Moore when he said in Bowling For Columbine that the reason those two assholes shot up the school was because of the presence of Lockheed in the town.

The Holy-Wood left is despicable in their inconsistent self-serving quest for money and power while reserving the right to be unaccountable no matter what they say or do while they unabashedly pontificate on the Tee Vee.

Whatever their argument du jour is, it’s to be consumed because they are royalty.

Here’s the unhinged leftist inspired version of civil discourse: Someone needs to shoot those blood-thirsty Hollywood freaks in the head. They have the blood of children on their hands. No one needs to make violent movies, and people don’t need to see them. All those movies do is incite violence and make people shoot each other. Ban violent movies. After all, the Founding Fathers didn’t forsee violent movies when they dreamed up the First Amendment. The First Amendment is outdated and needs adjusted to fit the times.

C’mon. The blame clearly rests on the current infestation in the White House. People are going nuts after losing their homes, their jobs, their loved ones, their old clunkers, their minds, their souls, and their country. Socialism is a Satanic infection and this sort of insanity will continue and grow.

The drug-addled sodomite imbecilic Kenyan needs to be returned to Kenya. The sooner – the better.

Or it could be Anthropogenic Climate Change …

@Diann: Blame the killer? Are you crazy? This would imply some level of personal responsibility, and our liberal overlords have decreed that personal responsibility has been subsumed by the state in its obligation to ensure that the world is just hunky dory.

    And it’s racist.

I guess nobody bothered to ask Tarantino about the gotterdammerung of “Inglourious Basterds”, where they massacred a whole theatre full of people. I bet that DVD was in the Aurora murderer’s apartment. No connection, though…just coincidence.

I blame Mr. Lanza for being a shitbird father. A kid as sick and emotionally needy as this one was didn’t need the added component of being unloved. Doesn’t matter how nice a house he left them in or how much alimony he paid. Asperger’s kids don’t need any of that shit.

I blame the mother for arming and training a mentally challenged kid who even she said couldn’t be left alone, even in the bathroom. Uhhh…then she fills his head with Apocalyptic scenarios and end of the world “Prepper” obsessions and expects this to end well how, exactly? Think this kid was moved by the Mayan Apocalypse coming exactly one week later?

I blame a culture that reflexively sees only the guns and never the sick society that spawned the gunman.

If you want to be honest about the vast majority of gun violence, how about starting with all of the Democrat’s signature work…pay to breed, which made husbands/fathers irrelevant to the women who now view Uncle Sam (or their own uteri) as their “breadwinners”, Feminism, which sold the massive lie that women are just like men, in fact, better really, men aren’t really all that special, and that marriage was little more than a trap, and the ever ratcheting Progressive Secularists, who’ve guaranteed a world where young minds are marinated in our schools in an
environment where God, patriotism, civic-mindedness, and self-initiative aren’t just ignored, but laughed at.

No wonder life is so cheap for so many of our youth. All the raw Nihilism they’re exposed to without any moral counterbalance…

It’s enough to make you think the Mayans were onto something.
