As the Muslim Public Affairs Council settled into their convention home at All Saints Episcopal Church in Pasadena, there was hardly a whimper from the Rector Ed Bacon. And that whimper wasn’t over the Muslims praying their anti-Christian and anti-Jewish prayers three times in the facility. (see this ) Rather, it was over the nationwide-outrage over All Saints’ partnering with the American Muslims’ political arm, giving them free use of their campus. Rev. Bacon lamented, “Christians can be very hateful.” One-third of the convention’s agenda was devoted to a pity party analyzing what the opposition to the conference location meant, moderated by Channel 4 Newscaster Beverly White. The “backlash” was called one of the most vile and mean-spirited campaign in memory.

The aptly named Rev. Bacon would rent to NAMBLA if the price was right. Sounds like this shell of a church is living beyond its means or the clergy has expensive tastes.
Then again, maybe they felt pressured by the threat of muslim lawfare and Holder’s DOJ, if they discriminated against the poor muslims.

“…Christians can be very hateful…” Is he kidding? When was the last time Christians burned Muslims alive in their mosques, while thet worshipped? Or beheaded Muslim school girls on their way home? Or randomly slaughtered Muslims on their day of worship? Probably not since the Crusades and even that has been grossly misrepresented by progressive educators. Give me a freaking break!

As a (nominal) member of a mainline Protestant denomination, it doesn’t really surprise me that an Episcopal church would jump on this kind of PC, interfaith dhimmi bandwagon. Plenty of misguided churches are doing it: http://www.foxnews.com/us/2011/02/18/churches-open-doors-muslim-worship/

Ask me why I’m no longer an Episcopalian. MNP hit the nail on the head- they’re basically Unitarians. They have zero concept of morality and don’t even take their own doctrines seriously. The American church is lorded over by a compost heap of far-left malignant narcissist who puppet master the current presiding bishop, Katharine Jefferts Schori. KJS herself is that not so rare combination of flaming idiot and petty dictator who has taken up the task of purging the church of any Conservative leadership and seizing the property and assets of “rebellious” dioceses and congregations… something she has no legal authority to do.

I’ve tried warning a couple of Christian friends of this shift to the gutting of American Christian churches for some time. They don’t get it. I pray that eventually all American Christians will wake up and smell the deceit, but I’m not holding my breath. Best we can do is pray and try to keep telling them, I guess.

…oh, forgot to add that one of them is involved in Mark Driscoll’s Mars Hill Church here in Seattle. If you aren’t familiar, look them up. A prime example of the “feel good, rock band church” if there ever was one. Naturally, it has huge appeal in The Peoples’ Republic of Seattle.

I went to a memorial service for a friend, and at the “church” there was a poster that said, “Does God keep you away from going to church?”
I stared at that for a few minutes just to read it over again so I understood that I was NOT in a real church but in a quasi-religious meeting hall.
Of course, this is The People’s Socialist Quagmire of California…

I live in Maryland. A few months ago I read a public notice that a land use hearing was to be held in the case of a group of Muslims that were seeking to purchase the land and buildings that once housed a private Catholic school. The plan was to turn it into the biggest mosque/community center on the East Coast. Nice touch. I don’t know how the hearing turned out, but it immediately made me think of WMAL’s Fred Grandy and his wife. They got the boot from that radio station because Mrs. Fred was too vocal in her opposition to creeping sharia.
