New Rules: Atheists Work on Christmas With No Overtime
There’s a site called The Raw Story that touts themselves as the country’s NUMBER ONE independent source for political news.
This story of theirs caught my attention.

The “independents” over at the Raw Story chose to call McDonald’s JERKS, even though the story states that all employees that work on Christmas VOLUNTEER to work that day. They do not HAVE TO.
That is magnanimous of McDonald’s, because I would find out who the anti-Christmas a-holes were and FORCE them to work on the day that is nothing but any other day to them.
I bet we could find a lot of them at the “independent” Raw Story.

I agree wholeheartedly.
You don’t believe in God then you don’t get paid for christmas off.
Why should you get off for something you don’t believe in.
Throw in Easter while were at it.

And if McDonald’s weren’t open on Christmas Day, atheists and moslems would complain since it wasn’t a holiday for them.; we’d see another anti-Christian boycott by libtards resulting in Christians being forced to work on Christmas but probably getting paid overtime. No customers though.

McDonalds should be open on Christmas.
Just think of all the children that can’t have their favorite dinner for Christmas.
Does anyone here really think ‘certain folks’ go out of their way to prepare an exhausting turkey dinner with all the fixings in the projects?
just saying.
Besides, I’m sure there are PLENTY of muslims ready and willing to WORK on a day that means JACK SHIT to them

I work in healthcare.
I volunteered to work Christmas so that the younger people who have kids could have a day with their families. I could just as easily not done so. Not everyone is Athesist.

That has been my idea for years. Anyone who is not Christian can’t have the day off with pay. Government workers not excluded. And it goes double for Thanksgiving Day.

@Mickey..that’s apples and oranges. I was in the pizza business for 25 years. Wife works at a hospital. Not that same thing. Hospital has life concerns. Pizza, people can do without one day.

Actually, this is kind of too bad. Wayyyyyy back when I was in management at one of th McD’s in Ottawa (I’ve had a varied career) and the only day we closed was Xmas day. On that day the managers had to come in to check on the store to make sure everything was ok. It took about one Xmas to organize the afternoon poker game which gave everyone a break from Xmas and a chance to kick back in the store without a frantic pace. The third year the BK managers from the store across the street (a couple were ex Mcd’s) came over and joined the game. Great fun. The game would break up with the bachelor’s leaving last.

Although it appears to be a good idea, I don’t know that i want to eat food that was prepared by a group of people who have no moral underpinnings.

I would boycott mcDs for opening on Christmas but I have not eaten from one in 30 years so they would not notice. Other than critical life care jobs, no one should be forced to work on any major holiday.
i drove by a dollar general on thanksgiving morning and there were half dozen cars there. Really? there are folks that cannot go a day without buying something from a dollar general? are you so irresponsible as to not plan a day ahead for that stuff? even a pharmacy does not need to be open, if folks simply plan ahead.
We all need a break from normal, a day with family. if you do not have family find others in the same situation and make your ‘family’ for the day.
ok off soap box and to work.

If McD’s puts up a Christmas Tree in the restuarant then they can piss off the atheists equally. How’s that for compromise?

“I would find out who the anti-Christmas a-holes were and FORCE them to work on the day that is nothing but any other day to them.”
Why would an atheist work for an a-hole like you?

Movie theaters are all traditionally open on Christmas. Why not Mcd’s?
