I’m also reminded of a story an English guy told me. According to him, in olde England actors and musicians were regarded as the lowest rank of humanity aside from people who you were at war with. If you accidentally killed someone’s prize dairy cow or an actor you would be in more trouble for the cow. Providing that it wasnt homicide if course. I think they were on the right track.

@Dagny a person can be the literal equavalent of Einstein at a particular task and be a total F*&ck up at everything elses. I would not of trusted Mozart with my finances or have Van Gogh as my barber.

Celebrity culture gives too much credit to too many people that are experts in only a very limited realm. Flea is but one of multiple, multiple examples of celebrities subtracting from the sum total of human intellegence by speaking out on things they know little of. I don’t even think many celebs are even seriously trying to add to the conversation. They are instead practicing the fundamenal skill of all celebrities, serving themselves by the publicity that they generate from saying stupid sh*#t.

The only positive I see from this particular example is that I will for now and always treat all public statements by him that are unrelated to Pop music to be a waste of time and a drag on my own intellegence.

Has anyone mentioned the abortion link? According to leftists it’s okay to kill my own child under certain circumstances, but once they’re part of the public indoctrination system, then it becomes something we won’t stand for. Born Alive Infant Protection Act stymied by Obama. Crass but perhaps the killing of 6 and 7 year olds was in Lanza’s mind was less horrific because of the cavalier throw away attitude of America towards the most vulnerable.
