    Juvie won’t work unless a “big stick” accompanies the “soft walk.” Without it juvenile detention is just summer camp on the state’s dime. No fear, no compliance. This is what the outlawed practice of “spanking” achieved in older generations. Frankly I saw no brutality after the initial attention-getter against the wall. We are told nothing about what the “child” did to get into that situation or the conversation that may have provoked the guard.

    Remember, this is the Miami Herald’s description of events. Their staff is composed of the soft-on-crime type of boobs we routinely criticize here in other posts.

    As stated above, perhaps the guard does have her own side of the story.
