I like using the emotional antidotal argument against the left, since they use it all the time.
Q:”Ms. Alverez, a criminal breaks into a women’s house and intends to rape and kill her, you would say its a felony for her to own a hand gun?”
A:”Yes”
Q:”A child is snatched by a criminal who intends to sexually assault and murder that child, you would tell the parents that it is illegal for them to own a gun in order to protect that child from harm.”
A:”Yes, I beleive in strict gun control.”
Q:”An elderly woman who lives alone should not have a handgun in order to protect her self against vicious dog that entered her house and will mall her to death.”
A:”Yes, that’s right. The elderly woman should wait for the police or animal control to come and remove the animal from the premise.”
Q:”Do you think the vicious dog or murderous criminal will wait for the proper authorities to arrive then, Ms. Alverz?”
A:”It doesn’t matter. I do not believe that private citizens should have fire arms of any sort under any conditions. Guns can kill people and we need to stop people from being killed. Therefore we need to take guns away from everyone.”

Let me lay out for you a typical day of a Mexican business man who is forced by his government not to own guns.
I work with a few and here is an extortion scheme that is common place.
The phone rings, you answer, a man says go to your window.
You look out, he says, you see that van? You say yes there is a van. The guy says inside that van are 6 men with automatic weapons and if you do not arrange to pay them in some way they will come in and kill everyone there. After they have some fun with your wife and daughters first.
What can you do? Even with a gun you may be screwed but you have a chance.

Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley once argued that abortion rights are like the attorney/client privilege. What business, he said, does the government have in a private transaction between a woman and her doctor? But at the same time Daley wanted every gun rounded up, every gun store closed, every gun manufacturer shut down.
So in Daley’s twisted, liberal mind an act of murder is a private affair the government should keep it’s nose out of, but if I have a Glock in my nightstand drawer the CPD and state’s attorney should be all over my ass.

He should have asked her if law enforcement officers should have guns. After all, if “nobody” has guns, then there’s no legitimate reason for law enforcement to need guns.
She might have to admit that criminals would still have guns.
Also, anyone in her position knows that ALL of the rapes and murders take place and are done and over before the police arrive. THE POLICE CANNOT PROTECT US. They arrive later to investigate and hopefully makes arrests.
What she is saying is that the thousands of women in our society, who every year prevent their own rape by carrying a personal defense firearm, just need to accept rape.

A couple of thoughts. At first I thought that the interviewer was another Phil Donahue but he really disassembled this woman and made her look like the hard left fool she is.
