Singer James Blunt flees high taxes
Singer James Blunt plans to become Swiss because he ‘loves skiing and good food’
(but forgets to mention it’s a millionaire’s tax haven)
British singer James Blunt has said he wants to become a Swiss citizen after living in the tax-friendly country for the past five years.
‘As soon as the authorities will let me, because I don’t know if I’ve been here a sufficiently long time, I would like to become Swiss,’ he told a Swiss newspaper at the weekend.
‘Verbier is my home,’ said the 38-year-old multi-millionaire, who bought a chalet in the ski resort in 2005.
Singer, songwriter, skier, foodie: James Blunt wants to become a permanent citizen
of tax-friendly Switzerland because he ‘loves skiing and good food’
He made a guest appearance in town on Saturday opening up a restaurant called The Cow.
Blunt said opening the restaurant, located at 2,730metres with panoramic views, was the fulfillment of a dream.
‘I love skiing and good food,’ he said, adding: ‘I am a horrible cook’.

So goes France & Britain, so goes the US.
I can’t help but wonder how long it is before Obama pushes legislation to jail anyone who attempts to leave the US because of high taxes. I realize now if you move your money out of the country there’s a fine, but how long before you get jailed?
Don’t scoff. Did you ever think that in the USA we would see riots because of apartment applications? Unions turning our streets into Cairo West? Our Federal Republic isn’t on life support; it’s dead. Our Constitution is dead (except if it is to argue for gay marriage and pot legalization — not sure how that fits).
We may want to pretend that we still live in the United States of America where We the People run the show, but we don’t. We live in a soft dictatorship and if you can be imprisoned for making a YouTube video nobody has ever seen, you can be imprisoned for trying to keep your own money.

Wonder if Blunt is fed up with Muslims in Britain, too. There are half a million of them in Switzerland. Something to think about, Mr. Blunt.
Oh, and Switzerland has something else: an atheist against Allah!

Blunt? I haven’t heard that noun since the 70s.

Diann is spot on.
I’m not a fan of Blunt, (his voice makes me cringe) but I’d leave too. Life is too short to be miserable.

Never heard of the guy, but good luck and God Bless.
Somebody said that Italy was giving away free citizenship if you bought property. Course, Italy’s already on the greased slide to Hell.
