Politiho Churning Out the Polls
Politico has their finger on the pulse of the DNC people.
Their polling suggests that there’s a thirst for sticking it to the rich amongst the great unwashed, an appetite for destruction, if you will.
Two things -
a: if they truly believe that this solves any problems, we have a problem.
b: if they know that it won’t but just want to do it anyway, we have a bigger problem.
Politiho:

Politiho does a good job at burying the lede, which is the SPENDING CUTS!!!!!
Also on Politiho-
Americans want amnesty.
A new POLITICO/George Washington University Battleground poll finds that 62 percent of those surveyed support an immigration reform proposal that would allow illegal or undocumented immigrants to earn citizenship over a period of several years. Thirty-five percent oppose it.
!snip!
Other Politiho polls:
- Most Americans Agree, The Constitution Must Go
- Americans Want Obama Appointed For Life
- The People Have Spoken, 1 in 3 Marriages MUST Be Gay Marriages
- 115% of people Polled Want Churches Turned Into Public Steam Baths
- 84.5% of the public want all guns melted and the steel used to make free amusement parks

I just came here to link this in the sticky:

I just read the entire survey. Politico has an agenda. Take the time to read the entire poll.

Was this poll taken in America or China?

BTW, they didn’t ask people that wanted taxes raised on large corporations if the wanted to pay more for gas, iphones, groceries etc.
People are stupid, and that is how Obama wants it.

Hmm, I don’t see cuts or limits on AFDC, welfare, or free cell phones, just to name a few, but I’m sure they’re in there…right?

A vast majority want spending cuts across the board, and smaller majorities want higher tax rates on the “rich.” Throw in higher tax rates on everyone else, and don’t we essentially have the so-called “fiscal cliff” everyone is worrying about? So let’s do nothing about a last minute budget deal, and just let what a majority of people (at least according to this poll) want to happen, happen.

Incidentally, when people say they want taxes on the rich, the rich are defined as anyone making more than they are. And when people say they want spending cuts across the board, they mean except for those programs that benefit them.
In other words, this is a poll that is asking people what the government should do to others – not to them.

When the “Fiscal Cliff” is discussed, two very important things are never brought up. The Debt Ceiling and The Debt. The tax increases and sequestration aren’t even a speed bump compared to the issues associated with our mounting debt…we were downgraded last time because neither were addressed…what’s next?

Rush has been talking about this since his show started at noon.
In a nutshell…we’re fucked.

@Menderman: wasn’t the deal that resulted in the “fiscal cliff” made so that the debt limit could be raised? And are you saying that our elected officials made the deal that resulted in the “fiscal cliff” without really believing that it would ever happen? Why, that would mean our elected officials were lying and making promises they never intended to keep – I find that hard to believe.
Oops – time for my meds again.

An increasing % of Americans know the shit will eventually hit the fan. And they do recognize they’ve been bombarded with plenty of horseshit for quite some time now.
They’re not particularly patient when it comes to inevitable events.
“No time is as good as the present” comes to mind.

Cut spending across the board, just don’t cut my free crap, such as making my welfare handout subject to a means test, or raising my retirement age, but go ahead and tax corporations as corporations aren’t people and people don’t buy what corporations sell and…
We’re so fluked. It’s not an Obama that spells the end for America. It’s an American people that give us an Obama…and these poll results.

There is a general misconception about raising taxes on “the rich.” The rich aren’t “getting rich” by making money, they are already rich. Taxing them only reduces their additional income, they still get to keep what they have. Somewhere in this swath of 1000 people, a chunk of them have to believe that raising taxes on the rich means someone goes into their bank account and takes money. See, the rich can simply decide to stop working to avoid taxes. The lower classes can not do that nor do they necessarily understand.

@eternal ¼ cracker p — Actually, the gov’t CAN tax the money you have, not just what you earn. It’s called a direct tax under Article 1, Section 2, Clause 3 and A1, S9, C4 of the Constitution. (SCOTUS ruled those clauses were not amended by the 16th amendment.) So, if the gov’t wants to tax a SOURCE of income, they may.
However, since it is required to be apportioned and is a capitation (head) tax, everyone pays the same amount. So if they tell the top 2% to pony up 1 million apiece, then everyone would have to pay 1 million as well! Now you know why the socialists hate a capitation tax and love income taxes. A capitation tax would have to be low enough for the poorest American to be able to pay. Not so with the socialist income tax.

It is obvious the stupid people are the ones paying taxes.
