My understanding is that the song was written/performed in the aftermath of the accidental killing of a couple of young or early-teen girls by a group of US Army engineers.

(I don’t know the circumstances, how, where, why the girls were killed. Don’t care.)

I also understand that this rapper, whatever his name is, has since offered an apology for the song.

So he wrote it in the heat of the moment, following something he found morally offensive. I’ve done stupid things under those circumstances, too. He demonstrated reget for doing so. As far as I’m concerned, this is a non-issue.

And don’t forget, he’s just a singer. His political opinions are likely shallow and uninformed – just as with the lib-tarded singers we have in the US. And don’t forget, at the end of the day, he’s doing a song and dance routine while dressing like and partially emulating an early 1960′s American lounge singer. So, culturally, we win anyway.
