Rootless RINOS
iOTW is very dedicated to rooting out the RINOS and highlighting and promoting candidates that are proud conservatives. We, once again, highlight Patrick Hughes, senatorial primary candidate for the State of Illinois. Here is candidate Hughes speaking about the grassroots uprising in support of his campaign.
In the last week I’ve seen an incredible surge in support for my campaign here in Illinois. People all across the state are coming out of the woodwork to help us out, whether with a yard sign, making phone calls, passing out literature, or a financial contribution. It makes the hours and nights onthe road away from my family a little easier, knowing that this campaign means something to Conservatives all across Illinois.
Across the country, the NRSC has attempted to lay out a roadblock to any Candidate that is not the “chosen one” in their eyes. We’re seeing it in Florida, Delaware; and here in Illinois they decided they would stuff Republican ballot boxes with their liberal golden boy, Mark Kirk. However, they are running into a problem. Mark Kirk can’t seem to find any support across the state.
The reliability of polls is always in question, but from all the polls that have been done one thing is certain, Mark Kirk has not gain any new supporters while my campaign is constantly growing. The reason is plain as day, Mark Kirk does nothing to excite Republican voters and his support is weak. No one wants Nancy Pelosi’s favorite Republican as their choice for Senate this fall.
The NRSC laid out a track of astroturf for Mark Kirk to sprint to the finish on. The problem is astroturf doesn’t grow. My campaign however, is surrounding by a rapidly growing grassroots effort because I am running on a Conservative platform with fiscal responsibility, lower taxes, and traditional values.
Mark Kirk is doing what he can to appeal to voters, this includes lying about being a “fiscal conservative” and a “budget hawk.” The last time I checked, fiscal conservatives did not vote with Nancy Pelosi for massive tax increases like Cap and Trade, or bailouts for failing banks. I know a”budget hawk” certainly would never sponsor earmarks upwards on $80 million for his campaign donors, but Mark Kirk has done all of those things.
Despite the rhetoric and conservative camouflage the RINO is not seeing his support grow. Nearly 60% of Illinois primary voters are not sold on a candidate. We are less than 7 days away from the primary and the grassroots support is surging around my candidacy. We are going to keep fighting all the way through February 2nd and we will win because of a storm of Conservative support in the final days. The time for conservatives to Take It Back has come and we won’t let any RINO to get in our way.
-Patrick Hughes-

I like the RINO™ symbol. It looks like a gimme, but I haven’t seen it before so it’s probably original to our own Mister Hat! I feel a tsunami of approval.

Along with Patrick Hughes making inroads on Mark Kirk in Illinois, Marco Rubio is neck ‘n neck with Charlie Christ in Florida. Also Joe Liberman is thinking of becoming a, well, a RINO? It’s going to be an exciting year!

Whoa! It’s not Charlie CHRIST, despite this RINO’s opinion of himself. It’s CRIST.
RUBIO for Senator!
McCOLLUM for Governor!

Thank you for mentioning Delaware. The state GOP party is pushing 9-term U.S. Rep Mike Castle (RINO-DE), which is disgusting. Christine O’Donnell, a true conservative is challenging him for the nomination.

While we’re on the topic of upcoming elections, one of, if not THE, most important one is the Secretary of State in each state. That’s the official who decides when an election is over, how many “found” ballots get counted, how many military and other absentees don’t, and it’s how the ‘RATs steal elections (like Franken). Electing their own to that office is a major project of theirs which MUST be countered.

We’ll probably see something later in the day about MO’s sudden support of the military, but I’m going to put this here just to get the jump on her.
I get this type of thing frequently and it’s all good, but I LIKE Trace Adkins and this one with the West Point glee club (now with sopranos!) is particularly good: http://media.causes.com/611645?p_id=44185871 .

In our congressional race in 2008, a local business-owner ran as the Republican. Virtually all of his campaign money came from this district. The Democrat (Dan Maffei) received almost all of his campaign money from DC. Naturally Maffei was swept in on Obama’s teeny-tiny coattails. I’m really hoping that Dale Sweetland runs again this year. Talk about grass roots (I LOVE the imagery of that BFH!).

Most of these “elected representatives” just don’t get it, it is The People, all about We The People, they just can’t comprehend the days of political gerrymander, bickering and elitism has been thrown on the trash heap of history.
They better get their act together and understand something real quick: Sovereignty of We The People is the new dynamic, it is the paradigm they best understand, they best go back and read that oath of office they swore to God and the American People who placed their trust in them.
Read the oath, understand it in a renewed light and fervency, rediscover the intent and principles behind it.
You are lost, but time still remains for you to see the light of God given charter of Liberty. Understand who is the true Sovereign.
The choices are simple, Constitutional Republican Government or Revolution, either one is coming, and there is nothing that will stop it.
The matter is not in your hands any longer, you broke the faith, you failed in your trust we placed in you, you have dithered while our Republic has been faced by a conflagration, you have turned from the principles and values of our founders, you have forsaken the tenets of Freedom and Liberty, whored out your Patriotism for small coin and illusion of self importance.
This is our country, we want it back, and we are taking it regardless of anyone’s blessing, because we don’t want or expect excuses.
This is our Home, it is The Land We Love, it is our Prosperity, it is our Liberty, it is ours to Determine, it is our Choice.
For you have nothing to say about it, that time has passed.
You are either for The People or you are the enemy of The People.

We all have to continue to stand up, then step up and swing for the fences.
We can’t let this opportunity get away. Conservatives haven’t been this active in 15 years.

Yes now is time for a Conservative Revolution. We need political candidates that have real conservative values and practice what they preach.
I am sick and tired of this new brand of republicans in name only. Kick their butts out of office along with the leftloon liberals.

iOTW is doing a great service in informing folks about the real choices in the GOP primaries this year. In the primaries, don’t accept a rootless, pale alternative to a real conservative.
However, I’ve been involved on conservative discussion boards for about 14 years, and my biggest pet peeve are conservatives who, when all is said and done, refuse to support a Republican candidate because they are ONLY 99-44-100% pure. Frankly, I think the term “RINO” is overused, and tends to be used by people who themselves aren’t Republicans. Regardless, please, support the candidates who offer a real choice, not an echo, of what the Dems are doing in Washington. But come November, if we see a number of Republican candidates go down in flames because a group of purist conservatives refused to vote for them over the Democrat because they disagreed with the GOP candidate on one issue out of a thousand other issues, then my conclusion will be that it’s not the GOP that needs reform and rescuing, but the so-called conservative movement.

@my2cents – i disagree. conservative candidates win elections. does not matter if they are D or R. the problem is, the D gets hijacked by their liberal agendas, and RINOs show their true colors only after the elections.
conservatism IS populism. IMO, all RINOs need to be purged in the primaries by conservative voters. the RNC must be forced to stop sending money and support for their elitist, country-club candidates, such as in NY23 and now Mark Kirk.
if primaries are absent or lost, and the general election is left with a choice between D and RINO, then any moderate, independents, or as u say “purist conservative” who refuses to vote for the RINO, and the D gets elected, is exactly what gave us the 2006 and 2008 socialist wins. BUT it has purged RINOs. good riddance. a RINO who votes with the Dems is no good at all, and IMO worse. lesson learned.
NO MORE RINOS!!!
