As a former LEO, I can offer my thoughts, but I can’t really say since I did not witness the incident myself.

Unless the guard (Walmart employs off-duty LEO’s, but most people assume they are “guards”) was flat-crazy (possible), he’s not going to shoot a person unless he is fear of death or great bodily injury, not just evading arrest.
My guess is the driver tried to run him over, or drag him to death, which resulted in him shooting to stop the threat to his life.

It’s ashame that adults use children as a cover for their covert actions. Much like Islamic terrorists use civilians as a backdrop for their protection. It was a serious threat if she was backing up while the officer was in harms way. She now worries about her children and grandchildren, maybe she should have thought about that before hand. They will always plead their case that they are the victim…. screw them. And, lets have the rest of the story…..how much was she getting from welfare and food stamps, how many times has she pulled this same BS before??

I was against the use of deadly force when the writer was telling me that she was a shoplifter.
She’s not a shoplifter.
She was part of a felony when it escalated to deadly force by these criminals.

According to the article, her friends were complaining that the officer should have just shot out the tires or something. Missing from their opinion was any mention that she tried to run the officer over.

Police officers are human as well – try to run one over, and you cannot predict how they will react. Oh well, Shelly bought her ticket and took her chances.

With this info the officer did nothing wrong.

I didn’t realize the definition of ‘perfect mom’ included serial shoplifting, violations of plea agreements, fleeing the scene of a crime, child endangerment, and trying to murder policemen. Good to know; I’ll make a note.

I just hope the other two women involved are charged with manslaughter, at the very least: a woman was killed during the commission of their crime.

Maybe she wasn’t stealing, maybe she was just taking the items that were 1/2 off, which would make the other half free, 1 shoe, 1 earring, 1 sock.

That woman’s mother should be charged with raising a completely degenerate asshole. Just like her.
