Maybe for a midget tossing contest. Obviously he would be a projectile. I think I could throw that bitch overhand. I never liked that guy from day one.

O/T but does AS run a word filter? I just had a post deleted (wow!) and I’m wondering if it was on autopilot or I somehow offended Pamela. Left another message asking for an explanation but it’s late, thought someone here might be familiar with her setup.

What was the comment?

A very complimentary 2 paragraph synopsis of Marlene Dietrich’s WWII contributions. It seemed applicable in light of the Saturday night movie thread. I did use the words Nazi and Jews, since they were an important part of her story. But I assure you there was nothing even remotely insulting. The last sentence was a quote from a book I read that said, “Germans [meaning Dietrich] make very good Americans.” It’s very puzzling and I hope Pamela didn’t misread something. Anyway I politely asked for an explanation and that post went up so at least I’m not banned.

I was reading comments to an AS article yesterday. Some people complained of their post being deleted. The response was that some post automatically get shunted by a spam filter. Some of the post were restored.
For the Steve Tucker link. Yep, I along with 620 others lost my job with Philips at the end of Oct.

Xavier,
I’ve had some not post before. Pam has so many attackers and muzzy-loving trolls, I am sure she has to use some beefed up troll flusher code.
Usually you can just reword and get it to post.

@Blink — Sorry to hear you lost your job. Hope you still have a good Christmas.
But if you want to be depressed, think about this in conjunction with the Steven Tucker article.
The worst part of this is that businesses will reduce workers hours because of ObamaTax but realize they still need those 40 hours to be covered. So, a full time employee gets reduced to part time at 20-25 hours a week and then the business hires another part time worker at 15-20 hours a week and 0bama will take credit for the jobs being created!

Thanks for that depressing thought, @Stranded.
But then, I’m sure BHO would figure out some way to take positive credit for an outbreak of Ebola.

I’m convinced we’re going to end up with a lot of workers having two 20-25 hour per week jobs which would force them into buying government health care. Plus, it further stratifies the workplace between upper and lower tier workers, creates a lot more part time workers, and feeds the class warfare/evil corporation meme.
There’s layers within layers, like an onion.

@Stranded in Sonoma.
Thanks. But be happy for me. I worked there a long time because the work was fun. Over the last six years, at an increasing rate, it had become not fun. I blame a lot of the new stress on increase regulations. The rest just the company tightening over sight in a lousy economy. I don’t miss the stress of it at all. Money to pay the bills hasn’t run out yet. I guess the new kind of stress comes later.
Last week I started the ball rolling for unemployment. I hate the process. However, I wanted the unemployment number to increase to reflect my new state. Obama ought to get more credit for his economy. If I just went Galt that wouldn’t happen. I am aware Obama already counts those employed part time or the underemployed as new jobs. They just love funny math meant to deceive and hide the truth.

@Blink — I know what you mean. The last job I worked at turned from being fun to being stressful. When I got laid off, it was stress relief. Yes, looking for a job is stressful and a new lead I have will probably mean a stressful job. But it will be better than not working.
Merry Christmas.

Ban alcohol and cars?
I think we should ban the wheel.
More deaths are cause by wheels than cars, alcohol, and guns combined.

Divide that by 320 million Americans (tax payers or not) and that costs every man, woman, and child $15 per day. $15 per day is a $450 per month car payment.
Family of 4 takes on $60 per day, or $1800 per month, that’s a mortgage on a nice house.
Most American households can’t afford an additional $1800 per month to fund the government.
It’s quite obvious the only way to actually make the payments is inflation or so simply go belly-up as a country. The tax increase on corporations and individuals won’t accomplish anything. It’s like putting a few pebbles on the railroad track to slow down a train.
