This Is Completely Fracktacular

Chicks on the Right

There is nothing like the glees you get from watching a Hollywood celebritidiot get caught in their epic hypocrisy.  BEHOLD:  Documentary maker Phelim McAleer calling out Matt Damon for making an anti-fracking movie that just so happens to be funded in part by the United Arab Emirates. Obviously, it’s in the UAE’s interest for the US NOT to pursue fracking, because they’d lose income if we actually become less depedent on their oil.

But Matt Damon doesn’t care about that, because he’s got movies to make, you see.

I LOVE that he’s getting called out.  LOVE IT.

These actors don’t trumpet “causes” because they want to be part of a “debate.” They do this so they can pad their actor resumes and make themselves look “courageous.” Oh, isn’t Matt Damon courageous for standing up against the evil fracking?! So, full of courage. Courage that, ironically enough, scampers from the room with its tail between its legs the moment someone challenges him.

    Liberal debate tactics:

    1. Act like you’re interested in the question

    2. Make a few “ya gotta be kidding me faces” when the question becomes uncomfortable

    3. Insult and marginalize the uncomfortable question asker

    4. Lie in response

Somehow, I never think of higher education when Matt is on deck.

Bet most people won’t connect the two either.

“You should be interested in my political views because I’m an actor in Hollywood and that means I’m smarter than you.”
“You just made an anti-fracking movie for a oil-rich country.”
“Well, what the hell do I know? I’m just an actor.”

I’m guessing Matt’s pseudoscience docudrama doesn’t include any of the scientific fact that the natural gas people are finding in their water wells does not chemically match the gas coming out of the rock formations that are being fracked.

I’m also guessing that it doesn’t cover the fact that gas in water wells in shale gas rich areas has been a known issue for decades before any fracking was ever done.

Viewers of any of the various anti-fracking propaganda movies and videos that have been made never get exposed to the inconvenient truth that there are shallow gas formations right below many aquifers.
As water is pumped out of the aquifers, gas percolates up from the shallow gas formations into them, especially when drought conditions prevent the quick replenishment of the aquifers.
Farmers and ranchers in many shale gas areas were having to use gas separators on their water wells for decades before fracking was ever done.

This takes place thousands of feet above where fracking occurres.

“Participant Media has a blind slate deal with Image Nation, who pays for 10% of all of their films…”

This fact is not a minor detail. It’s worth looking into both…Here’s what Participant Media makes:

(I haven’t seen Lincoln, but heard someone on a radio show complaining about the way Lincoln was swearing all the time, using foul words that weren’t even around at the time. Does this explain why Lincoln was made a trash-talker?)
