Charity donations was one way of the people to handle society’s problems for themselves instead of depending on the Gov.

No waste when it’s done by private citizens.The real problems get taken care of without asking for Daddy Gov to gt involved.

Even as a child I saw charity being deductible as a way the Gov wanted the best for us. No red tape or waste and the people get exactly what they want.

This bothers me greatly.

This also affects employment negatively. Back in the late 80′s they reduced what you could deduct to churches. Our company immediately lost every church because they had to become irregular users (instead of contracted) due to smaller coffers.

Also, every time the Gov has jacked with the wealthy I have taken a hit because they really are the ones who hire people like me.

As far as Obama setting to reduce charitible contribution deductions.

This has been the dream of the athiest all along. To drive churches out of existance, with the great majority wanting them to pay taxes.
If they can’t tax them, hurt them via their donors.

On the flip side it’ll hurt Acorn and the likes also, not to mention foundations at universities, and social agencies which rely on donations…….
Can only mean 1 thing he wants everyone to be supported and dependant on the gubment.
Im assuming the Obama $3 fundraising effort is a non-profit charity as well, so he’ll gain a huge edge on republican donors being his donors don’t and won’t bother with writing off $3 donations to Baracks charitable campaign fund.
