    BigFur,
I saw this list the other day. I noticed the top 10 or so were mostly websites I no longer visit. Mostly because they strayed off the conservative path. They just didn’t seem authentic any longer to me. Although, out of the top 10 I still to Gateway Pundit.

So I find it interesting this guy put those websites as the most conservative of all on the Internet. Would you mind sharing your opinion on this list?

I lost all respect for Hawkins when he said a while back all the small bloggers should get out of the way.

As for the list…I gots a problem!

IOTW should be no less than Top 15 at the very least. #2 on mine! :)

It is a sham list.. There’s no way my 20 hits a day don’t rate on that list!!!! I’ve been snubbed, it’s biased toward good bloggers! I’m boycotting this list as a show of my discontent!

My opinion on the top 20?

I never go to Hot Air. I don’t like the writing or the opinions.

Instapundit is very influential. I like his choices and sense of humor.

Hoft is great. Hardworking. Takes chances. Real pro.

Breitbart has gone downhill. Their “this time we’re vetting Obama” was a huge faceplant. Almost as bad as Al Capone’s vault. Without Andrew the site seems toothless.
    I like Nolte’s stuff. Ben Shapiro’s.

Ace of Spades. I guess it’s good, because of the popularity. I find the essays unnecessarily long and they get boring. I keep hearing he’s funny. I don’t see it.
Site is ugly and dull. The commenters are not “morons,” they are assholes.

Twitchy. Niche blog. Self-fellating in many ways. Writers try too hard to be trendy/clever, comes off trendy/clever, so, mission accomplished.

    Newsbusters. Great stuff. Entertaining.

The Campaign Spot. Never heard of it. Jim Geraghty is great, however.

Naked DC. It’s okay. Small blog. It appears on all of John’s lists. Conspicuously so.

Redstate. Vegetative State. Boring with a capital boring. I know they’re good. Not my cup of tea.

Liberal Logic 101 – often very clever and funny

    Michelle Malkin – She’s Malkin. She’s good.

the Corner – I like some of the writers. Other’s, not so much.
    Goldberg is good.

Moonbattery – Love it. Always one of my favs.

Legal Insurrection- Great site. Getting better by the day.

Rachel Lucas – Don’t know this site.

IMAO – Frank is a funny guy. Good stuff.

Atlas Shrugs – best banner on the internet

Vox Populi – I used to read him a lot 6 years ago. I should check in again.

Althouse- I like to read her stuff once in awhile. Original stuff. Good writer.

I’m really comfortable here. Great topics that make you think, good humor, perfect balance.

My only concern is really, when the hell Does Fur sleep? I’ve been watching this for a while and I’m guessing maybe 3 or 4 hours a day.

Not sure what RINO/dhimmi site Ace of Spades is doing on a list of conservative websites.

Frank Fleming’s IMAO is good stuff. iOwnTheWorld is awfully underrated, of course.

Malkin has become the de facto spokeswoman for real conservatives in this country.

Lists are like Polls are like Political Internals.

    — eh —

I don’t know how some of those even got on the list, others (like iOTW) should have been a lot higher up – others lower.

I was wondering the same thing lately about when BigFur sleeps. Perhaps he is able to sleep the way dolphins do, 1/2 a brain at a time.

Anyways, thank you for your summation of these sites.

I’m going to get some flack here, but I do not like Michelle Malkin. Never have. Don’t trust her. She is a big mouthed phony. Anyone who is in tight with Sean Hannity, another big phony, should be seriously held up to the light. If you enjoy looking at her, fine. But she will not truly help us win this war against the marxists.

I’ve fairly recently realized that you can separate Conservative blogs into 2 categories; the ones run first and foremost for profit and those which are a labor of love for the owners. Say, HA on one end of the spectrum and here or Zilla’s or AS at the other; it’s not traffic or success that divides these groups – it’s integrity.

Now there’s nothing wrong with profit – but when bloggers give in to liberal pressure or abandon Conservative principles for the almighty dollar, I’m done with them. Pseudo-Cons aren’t going to get any donations or clicks from me. I’ve actually got a lot more to say about this – in lurid detail – but I’ll save that rant for another time.

    Kairn,
Many, many people, including prominent bloggers that I won’t mention, share your view on Malkin. Personally, I think she’s an important voice and a great asset, and articulates a lot of the conservative positions well.
It’s difficult to do what she does on the tee vee. She would be hard to be replaced.

Hannity, on the other hand, troubles my heart.

    X,
I know what you mean about the writing style.
Some people can get away with being churlish.

Coulter has that gift. Steyn too. I guess good comedic timing can go a long way towards allowing someone to be really, really entertaining as they are knife twisting, while others just seem scary.

    BigFur,
I derive my opinions about other people from my own gut feelings and through many decades of life experiences. I disliked Malkin long before I sought out conservative blogs to read. So any negative opinions of Malkin from certain unnamed bloggers have no bearing on my opinion of her.

Same went for Coulter. Of which I am now embarrassed to say I got talked into liking her for awhile by a conservative friend. She has blown it big time by being a vociferous proponent for Romney and Christie, which actually proved my initial take on her as being another big mouthed phony. Sure, she is sharp as a tack and says pithy things, but if she thinks Christie is the cat’s meow, she ain’t on my team!!!

Hannity, blech!!!!! Knew he was a panty waist phony from the get go. My conservative friend could never get me to like him.

You know, these folks want to make money, lots of money. That’s fine with me. But as Xavier mentioned earlier, when these so-called conservative people are making their money pretending to be something they quite aren’t, that’s where I have a problem. Real honesty and integrity goes a long way with me. I have no patience or respect for anything beyond that. That’s just the way I’m wired.

And I too, believe your website should have easily been placed in the top 10. Excellent mix of serious and silly articles. I like that balance. Very much enjoy your regular commenters. Great bunch of peeps!!!!
