Rapper Big Boi On Obama: Warns “I’m Not Pro-Govt…Our Freedoms Are Getting Taken Away”
As rare as it is, it’s so refreshing to hear common sense come out of the entertainment industry. During an interview to discuss the release of his new album, rapper Big Boi made the following response when asked about the president:
“I’m not pro-government at all, I’m pro-people. Our freedoms are getting taken away every day with things that people aren’t aware of, like the [National Defense Authorization Act]. I don’t care who the president is–it ain’t just all about who’s black or who’s white or who’s Republican or Democrat, it’s about who is for the betterment of people, period. … I ain’t on nobody’s team, you feel me? I’m about the American people.”

In other words, he is a free market capitalist (and a “1 percenter”) who makes lots of money by creating goods that other people voluntarily buy without coercion of any kind. He sees higher taxes and big gov’t taking away what he earned and spending it on things that do not help the people at all.
Welcome to the Republican Party!
Read his comment again. He is wording his response very carefully. He knows that 99% of his audience voted for 0bama and he doesn’t want to alienate them. So he gave the standard response of “I’m not of either party.” But you know when he sees the Democrats Gone Wild, he gets pissed off because, while their ire is directed at rich whites, their TAXES zap him too.

It kinda is about Democrats. They are the only ones who have historically taken away freedom.

@kono — Welcoming him to the Republican Party was just tongue in cheek. It’s just that you can see he wants to keep what he earned and 0bama wants to redistribute what Big Boi earned.

@Dr Tar
I listened to him when I was a kid and it’s mostly about weed, women, and cultural stuff (dirty south). He usually didn’t do the violent gang banger lyrics.

He is not a thug rapper. Him and Andre make Outkast which I have listened to only because it does not degrade women and call for violence. I say welcome to him. We need more blacks to stand up even if he has to word it carefully. Who can blame him wiht the way things are today. I would want to protect what I built too.
