Former NAACP Chapter President: No Reason For Blacks To Vote For Obama Except Race

C.L. Bryant, a former NAACP Texas president and current Baptist minister, told MSNBC’s Thomas Roberts Thursday there’s really no reason for black people to have voted for the re-election of Barack Obama other than the color of his skin.

Bryant said that due to the high Latino unemployment rate as well as the high poverty rate among young white women, the same was true for those demographic groups.

THOMAS ROBERTS, HOST: Reverend, how can the Republican Party do better with nontraditional constituencies?

REVEREND C.L. BRYANT: By telling the truth about who they’ve been historically. That has been distorted. The truth of the matter is this – and Mr. Reed did in fact say well, the president did well through the south – but the truth of the matter is this: take away this president’s skin color and take away the race card that is played so often with this president and there’s really no reason for black people to vote for him or Latinos in that frame as well, because when you look at the unemployment rate among those two demographics, when you look at the poverty rate among young white females, there is no reason for anybody to have re-elected this president in those demographics except for the emotional issue of race. And this is what I’m saying, and this is what we say in our movie “Runaway Slave.”

The Democrat party, the progressive liberals, have been very successful in co-opting the emotional issues of the day. The truth of the matter is those very issues have led the same group of people who voted this president and voted for him religiously into a mindset and to a culture of bondage.

Shocking stuff, especially for MSNBC.

That’s nice of you to say Rev, but it’s too late now. We could have used you BEFORE the election.

Caudia, He was all over it before the election.

You just had to find him or luck out on the few shows that had him on. He didn’t fit the narative so he was not welcome on the propaganda news outlets.

Look up Runaway Slave and you’ll see he’s been at it quite a while. He’s from the Dallas area here – Garland is a suburb.

Suppressed would be the word applicable to why you didn’t know of him before.

I’m with Claudia. None of this is new. There were plenty of black clergy who spoke out against Obama vis-a-vis his stance on gay marriage, the rising unemployment rates among blacks. But it was ignored prior to November 6th. Now that Obama is firmly secured for another term, MSNBC is more than happy to hear how much black people shouldn’t support Obama, right when it will do absolutely no good.

Yeah, but that’s on MSNBC et al not the Rev. as she implied he was not speaking up beforehand.

    No?

@Dadof3 and Diann, you’re right. These guys were out there but the MSM shunned them.

There must be some way we can punish the MSM. Boycotting their programming won’t work for me because I NEVER watch their networks.

I’ve written to them to say “shame on you” but have never heard a peep from them.

    What else can we do?

CL Bryant did the movie Runaway Slave released last spring or summer which explicitly refered to the Democrat welfare plantation and the new servitude that it puts minorities into.

Unfortunately, the reverend is one of the 4%. The 96% voted to make slaves of this country’s taxpayers.

@Diann — Remember that Brian Williams of NBC said that it is now safe to discuss the economy. Obviously because it wasn’t safe for 0bama before the election.

What the conservative right in this country needs is to buy NBC or CBS or ABC and turn it conservative and keep it there. Don’t be wishy-washy. And at every election, show how the democrats are the slavers and racists. Have Reverend Bryant on when discussing the election, especially when blacks will vote for a black only because he’s black.

You know, I was thinking about the money they need to stay alive and it’s obvious, to me, that the elections benefit these propaganda sations to the max and keep them alive no matter what crap they present us they call entertainment.

Aren’t they the ones who receive the lion’s share of campaign money spent? By any and all parties?

I see this as what insulates them from any boycott – even if it was a %100 boycott.

I’d like to see the rules run so there was no extra promotion at all. Everyone who gets the required amount of support gets a standard amount of exposure limited to only their sales pitch within one minute eac. Each candidate heard equally timewise.

Choice more like a menu instead of inundating us with brainwashing.

Another rule I’d like to see is if you WANT to run for office you are automatically disqualified. That may keep the narcicists down some if we have to beg someone who has shown real leadership locally to lead for a while.

If you know anything about one retired General Cincinattus and how he was approached in his farm field to hold office because he was held in such high regard for his record then you know what I’m talking about.

By the way… he only agreed to it if he was allowed to step down after he righted the ship.

    If only…
