LANSING, MI – The Michigan Legislature has begun passing right-to-work bills in a historic move that was announced just this morning.

The Michigan House voted on House Bill 4054, passing it 58-52 mostly partly-line vote in the Republican-led chamber. The bill goes to the Republican-led Senate, which also is taking up right=to-work legislation today.

Bills must pass both chambers and be signed by Gov. Rick Snyder to become law.

The vote occurred afterĀ Democrats left the House in protest because Republicans would not suspend debate to acknowledge a lawsuit filed to reopen the Capitol, which as closed, according to police, due to structural concerns. Democrats believe it was a move to keep protesters from filling the gallery.

Being judged by one’s merit in a job, as opposed to hiding behind a union, is frightening to liberal minds. It stinks of personal responsibility.

Alright, now that MI is a right to work state again, can we get back to building real cars now?

If I have to look at one more “smart car” I think I’ll hurl.

If Unions are so great, why would this matter or make a difference? Everybody would want to join the Union wouldn’t they?

Those “structural concerns” had better remain for a few more months as this works its way through their senate and governor, and then while they deal with the protests.
They were smart to do it this way. The Michigan winters will keep the thugs from maintaining prolonged outside protests.

I live in a Right to Work State, where the Unions have no power… but there is such a scam going on with Corporations, our Government, and illegal immigrants and foreigners working on work visas in America, it’s sickening. What happens is this, companies lower wages, hire illegals and foreigners, who are also getting all sorts of welfare and government money (ie tax payer money) that Americans aren’t getting, that it makes in nearly impossible to earn a living wage for Americans. It helps the companies that do this to “maximize profits”. I know the companies can just ship the jobs overseas for the cheap Communist Slave Labor if we don’t keep our mouths shut about this crap, but this is the Government/Corporate Scam that is going on here in America now.

Every state is a right to work state. If one citizen has a right, all citizens have the same right.

What MI has done is to no longer be a forced unionization state. Republicans should not be afraid to say it. And their comeback to the ‘tard media should be what @Shang said — if unions are so great, then wouldn’t everybody want to join one?

Michigan’s governor told the unions not to put a proposal on the ballot that would forever ensure public unions in the state through a change to its constitution, and he would not entertain this law. The unions didn’t listen. The proposal was defeated. Paybacks are a bitch. And happiness is a $30/month raise, from my perspective.
