    His name is Jones.

    “…and then along came Jones,

    Tall, thin Jones,

    Slow-walkin’ Jones,

    Slow-talkin’ Jones,

    Along came long, lean, lanky Jones.”

    Common human response, everyone sees what happened and knows what “will” happen, yet, all but one anonymous person is content to stand on the landing waving their arms. That one person chose to risk everything to save another human being.

    Reminds me when the majority of people in the US see what is happening around the middle east, the world and their own backyard and know what’s gonna happen. Yet they remain on the landing screaming and waving their hands.

    Then up steps a very small percentage of US citizens who choose to sacrifice their all to halt the inevitable and save others.
    Outside of their families, they remain anonymous. Until again a small minority read the obituaries of Afghanistan, Iran and other countries where our military serve.

    Heroes ? The word seems to have lost its meaning through over use and misuse. Valiant and courageous? Most definitely !

    What’s that saying – “God helps those who help themselves…” I’m not saying this guy should have been run over by the train, but he sure didn’t give himself much help.

    ^ Obviously. That’s what made him unaware he was near trains in a subway, walking backwards towards it, across a thick white textured line. He probably came-to after falling onto the rail.

    There was plenty of time for any of those idiot bystanders to jump down and save the guy.

    The third rail of a subway line can be over 1000 volts. The first rule of lifesaving is to assess the dangers TO YOU. You cannot help the victim if you become a victim yourself. In the video it’s hard to see if the victim was laying across the third rail cover, but if he was the “hero” could have killed himself by touching that guy.
    After watching the video a couple of times I suspect the “victim” was actually trying to kill himself.

    Follow up on this story a month from now, you will read headlines ,” Subway victim suing rescuer, claiming severe neck and back trauma from being pulled to safety, ‘I was fixing to get up myself until this John Wayne wannabe butted in and wrenched my back all out of whack’”, no good deed goes unpunished.

    I’m sure it was Barack Obama that saved that man!…if you squint you can make him out…his ironed, mom jeans give him away…it’s just what he does…He Saves Men…just like Jesus!
