Post-US world born in Phnom Penh

By Spengler | atimes.com
It is symptomatic of the national condition of the United States that the worst humiliation ever suffered by it as a nation, and by a US president personally, passed almost without comment last week. I refer to the November 20 announcement at a summit meeting in Phnom Penh that 15 Asian nations, comprising half the world’s population, would form a Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership excluding the United States.
President Barack Obama attended the summit to sell a US-based Trans-Pacific Partnership excluding China. He didn’t. The American led-partnership became a party to which no-one came.
Instead, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, plus China, India, Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand, will form a club and leave out the United States. As 3 billion Asians become prosperous, interest fades in the prospective contribution of 300 million Americans – especially when those Americans decline to take risks on new technologies. America’s great economic strength, namely its capacity to innovate, exists mainly in memory four years after the 2008 economic crisis…

Going from a nation that all others wanted to emulate and partner with, to a country that is completely ignored.

But can’t they see? We’re Moving Foward! To the Communist Past of the 20th Century!

Seeing how it worked out so well for the nations on the Asian continent, we’re going to repeat their experiment.

Meanwhile, the ASEAN nations and their partners are sprinting past us with free markets principles we kept alive during the Cold War.

Which choice do you think has the proven record of prosperity and reducing poverty?

Teh Omen is all for equality and he’s going to achieve it on a global scale. Unfortunately for us the equality will last but a moment as our economy plunges and their’s thrives over the next 4 years.

@Jack, not just ignored…more like ostracized and scorned, by his perceived global ‘friends’ and socialist colleagues.

All part of his plan to destroy the USA. He’s going to take us down a peg, destroy the white wealth, destroy Christian base, and than try to become Pres of the UN which he views as becoming a world ruling body under his tutelage.

Almost without exception, anything the Obamanation touches or promotes blows up in his face.

Slightly o/t, his “stern” warning to Assad not to use chemical weapons had me laughing out loud. I can only imagine the reaction of Assad and other world leaders. (ooooohh, ooooooohh, I’m quaking in my boots Bari).

The only people who have any shred of respect for this man are koolade drinkers and the image in his bedroom mirror.

@ marleenna1959 – Lost to Rio de Janeiro, a city with an even larger crime rate than Chi-Town. That would be doubly embarassing to Obumfuk if it were possible to embarass a DemocRAT bottom-feeder.

This isn’t going to be a humiliation for Obama. We all know how the press and culture work now. If this is ever publicly acknowledged as some kind of failure, it will be blamed on the fact that the Asians “didn’t want anything to do with the white, republican racists in the US goverment” and that the only way to “solve” the problem is to give even more power to Obama.
