Hill Clinton: Israel has ‘lack of generosity … lack of empathy’ for Palestinians
Speaking at a forum at the Saban Center for Middle East Policy in Washington on Friday, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said Israel is suspicious of Palestinians and doesn’t care enough about their plight.
“I’m not making excuses for the missed opportunities of the Israelis, or the lack of generosity, the lack of empathy that I think goes hand-in-hand with the suspicion,” Clinton said, after praising the country’s prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, for working with her in 2009 to offer a moratorium on building new Jewish settlements in the occupied West Bank.
“So, yes, there is more that the Israelis need to do to really demonstrate that they do understand the pain of an oppressed people in their minds, and they want to figure out, within the bounds of security and a Jewish democratic state, what can be accomplished,” Clinton added.

I’m with Diogenes; I don’t have any “empathy” for people sending random rockets into my neighborhood. As for “generosity”, I’ve read news reports of Israel sending truckloads of medicine into Gaza in the middle of the fighting.

Israel is the only democracy in the middle east and the Palestians have always had an option of a homeland starting in 1948. I never quite understand her comments. Like when she said she’d have to suspend disbelief re: Petraus (that was way back in the Betraus era).
