I occasionally treated myself to a Stage Deli pastrami on rye. Expensive back in the 70′s but damn delicious.I could make 3 normal sandwiches out of the one. I used to bring half home to Mrs. Moe. Other great New York Delis were Wolfs on lower Broadway, and Katzs on Houston Street. The Kosher part never bothered me, I couldn’t taste it. But if all those great delis and other small businesses in New York start to fall, as they probably will, we are in a sorry state. By electing the anti- profit obama on 11/06/12, a day that will live in infamy,we signed our own fate. God help America.
