Ambulance gets ‘booted’ while paramedics tend to emergency

NEW ORLEANS – The Quicky’s convenience store in Mid-City takes its parking lot rules seriously. Very seriously.About 4 p.m. Friday, New Orleans paramedics rushed inside the store for a man with a life-threatening medical issue. They worked on the patient with chest pain, put him inside the vehicle, then started to speed off.The paramedics “heard a loud noise,” and the vehicle came to a screeching halt, according to Jeb Tate, spokesman for New Orleans Emergency Medical Services. The medics stepped out and found a boot on their ambulance.Convenience store employees allegedly put a restrictive parking boot on the ambulance.
And now it was stuck.

With the Convenience store employees as regulators, this is a parable for Obama Care.

I’d be surprised if their still operating after the humongous lawsuit that is sure to follow this incident. They better pray that the ill customer comes through without any serious complications or they are really screwed.

They’re just lucky that they didn’t steal all 4 wheels and left it sitting on blocks. Remind me never to go that store ever. Damned good thing that I don’t live in New Orleans or some some other urban hell hole.

Too much initiative for black employees, would never occur to white employees.
Dot indians or asians.

Alright, I’m confused again.
Private citizens are allowed to ‘boot’ vehicles? Do they collect the fines too? I’d also be interested in seeing the rules/warning sign for booting on private property.
I bet this is completely illegal.

What? Do employees get a commission on booting cars?
I though only cops could boot?
Why would someone boot an ambulance with lights on?
I’m so confused. Leftist bastions such as N.O. make no sense to me.

Reread the link, apparently there was a warning sign. Still doesn’t make it legal.
Any of you stay in hotels and read the sign in every room that says, “Hotel not responsible for valuables left in room”?
It’s a lie. They are responsible for valuables left in the room, but the sign may dissuade guests from contacting the police if the chambermaid or maintenance man steals something.
Just because a sign says xyz doesn’t mean it’s the law.

@Xavier – Works that way for parking garages as well! The notice that they are not responsible is to there to dissuade lawsuits!

I suppose the name “Quicky’s says it all. The store owner expects the business in his parking lot to be over in 3 minutes.

I guess the part time employee ran out and said after he booted the EMS vehicle, “I GOTS ME OBAMACARE MOFO!”
