Obama Calls for Bipartisan Commission on Debt. Has He Tried, You Know, Adding?

No, really. They need a commission to figure out why there is so much of that annoying debt stuff.
President Barack Obama on Saturday called on Congress to pass a bill creating a fiscal commission amid reports that he will likely create an executive commission if Congress does not act. Obama issued a statement calling for Republicans and Democrats to join the effort, even though Republicans have already voiced their opposition to the plan.
“I strongly support legislation currently under consideration to create a bipartisan, fiscal commission to come up with a set of solutions to tackle our nation’s fiscal challenges – and call on Senators from both parties to vote for the creation of a statutory, bipartisan fiscal commission,” the president said.
You know he means business (even if he doesn’t quite grasp the concept of “business”) because he used the word “strongly” and I’m certain he was using his super serious face when he said it! If that commission doesn’t come up with solutions, stat, he will issue a very sternly worded apology, dammit!
Granted, I don’t have the economics prowess of, say, a Community Organizer, but it seems to me that, perhaps, the first step to figuring out why you are in so much debt is learning how to balance a checkbook? Practice with that first, Obama, and then we can move onto the next step. I tendered my sage advice, as a wish Scottish-ina woman, who has learned to live within a meager household budget, on twitter earlier:
I wonder if Obama’s bi-partisan commission on debt will appoint a “Stop buying things that you can’t afford” Czar?
See, that’s all you need, Obama. Since you like those Czar types so much, appoint one who will teach you that 2 plus 2 does not magically equal 10, just because you wish it so or because you think that you are so much better than the laws of Math.
Stop spending money that you do not have. Also, stop taking more and more of other people’s money in an attempt to compensate. You see, you know what happens then? — this is a bit of advanced coursework, try to keep up — those people have LESS money to spend on things like their businesses (those evil entities that hire people and employ them) or on consumer goods or on, you know, feeding their families.
ExJon from Exurban League reminded me of something that could work out as a great study guide for you. A Rosetta Stone of basic arithmetic, if you will. You’re welcome!

Oh and Lori I think the economic prowess of a second grader could do more good than the mighty Obumbles is going to do..
So that means you are way way way way ahead of Obumbles and his economic commission. I’m pretty sur eyou have more intelligence in the end of your little pinky than Obumbles and all of his czars put together.

a “Stop buying things that you can’t afford” Czar?
Isn’t that what Biden was going to do for the first stimulus?

The main reason for having a bipartisan commission is so that Obama can shuffle off the blame for the economy onto the Republicans on the commission. Sooner or later the Blame Bush card will be entirely worn out, so he has to make up some kind of new Blame the Republicans card.

Food for thought: last year, the net worth of the Forbes 400 was 1.57 trillion, and this year it is estimated to be 1.27 trillion. Conversely, the estimated Federal deficit is about 1.8 trillion (taken from the New York Times).
We can completely confiscate all of the net wealth of the 400 wealthiest Americans, and are still about $500 billion in the hole.

@Wyatt AARP – If you count really, really fast, like fast enough to count from one to ten in one second, and you started counting and went at it 24/7 and never took time off, it would take roughly 32,000 years to count to one trillion.
And our congressvermin want to raise our debt ceiling by almost two trillion.
I think I’m gonna throw up.

@Uncle Al: I would probably lose track of where I was somewhere in the billions and then have to start over.
Anyhow, just for kicks I looked up a list of billionaires, and noticed that Steven Spielberg, Oprah Winfrey and George Soros were on the list. Let’s start retiring the deficit by taking all of their assets – after all, they seem to lean towards wealth distribution, and “it’s for the children.”
By the way, it’s my idea and I get the 10% finder’s fee.

Obaaama forming a commission on debt control is nothing but a trick/ploy to make it look like he is concerned. Nothing but PR. He has no intention of reining in spending. His answer is to raise the ceiling 1.8 trillion. He is bankrupting this country on purpose!! Their goal is to form an socialist/oligarchy dictatorship WORLD WIDE joining George Soros’s new world order. Soros wants China to run the planet. Even Bwarny Fwank said the only way to escape will be to move to mars.

In Obama’s town hall speech this week, he basically blamed the people for the shotty economy and local job loss when he stated that the people stopped spending when they lost their source of income.
I found his oddly ironic in that government has yet to stop spending even though their source of income is in serious decline due to the same rate of job loss.
Assholes.
