Police upset that jewelry store owner stops robbery (California)
Only in California. Seriously.
Let’s start with the quote that blew my mind. This is from San Jose Police spokesperson Albert Morales:
“We don’t recommend it. We would have preferred that they just go ahead and comply with the request or demands of the robbers.”
What don’t they recommend? Defending yourself and your property.
The incident that triggered that quote happened when two armed robbers stormed into a jewelry store in San Jose, California. The men pointed their weapons at the store owner, who was working behind the counter, pounded on the counter and demanded jewelry.
Instead, the woman drew her handgun and fired at least one shot at the robbers. While the woman did not hit anyone, the criminals ran out of the store and into a waiting SUV. The entire incident was caught on the store video surveillance tapes. The tapes have been turned over to the police who are looking for suspects.
So yes, the San Jose Police Department would rather you be a good victim than protect yourself. One more reason I can’t imagine living there.

Did I miss something? Since when do California cops take on someone who might actually shoot back?
Plus the fact that the Supremes ruled that the police have no Consitutional obligation to protect citizens.

The cops in my town say that kind of crap every time someone chases down a purse snatcher or shoplifter. If your house is BROKEN INTO they tell you to retreat to the back bedroom and call 911. These are the same folks that will come and collect your guns when The One gets his gun bans accomplished.

It’s already beyond that point. I haven’t met a cop recently who hasn’t been corrupted from the get go. The last two who gave me tickets were fired before they could testify against me as I plead not guilty to the alleged traffic infractions. They’re all a bunch of brain dead bullies. When they arrested my step son for a deserved crime (meth related, they had to lie in their report, and to boot, couldn’t complete a correct sentence that a third grader should be able to do. I’m no good with grammar either

The police somehow never offer their solution to the citizen’s problem of when seconds count, the police are only minutes away. The police, like the robbers, want the citizen to be a sheep and roll over to wait for the sheepdog to come along and fill out the after action report. Some protection!

The Bay Area, The second most embarrassing place in this once great state, L.A is #1. The cesspool known as San Jose is probably still suffering from the idiocy of the gun grabber McNamara.
We had an idiot try and boost a store in our town the other day. This dumbass brought a knife to a gunfight though and is cooling his heels in jail instead of the morgue. Our Bay Area reject cops here had similar words regarding the use of weapons.
