    It is as if she is suggesting drug addiction is better than religion.

    Progs see a safer and better world where drugs are free and legal, and any mention of religion is illegal.

    I volunteer for my church’s Celebrate Recovery program. It is a biblical based recovery program where people turn lose of their addictions and realize they need help from God and from a support family to aide them in their recovery.

    Of course Joy(less) wouldn’t understand they are not “Replacing” an addiction with “Another addiction.” They are admitting they need help and they acknowledge they aren’t in control of their lives. They use the Bible, its teaching and the group of believers to get themselves on track and under control.

    Yes, some people become religious as an act, but many people are very sincere in their needs and beliefs. We believe we are our own worst enemy and need a higher power to help us.

    In her zeal to dismiss all Religion, she trashes the idea of personal redemption. So if she had a son who tried to recover from an addiction, she would likely decree: “screw him, he’s dead to me”.
