Samaritan’s Purse
Never heard of them?
They have been working around the clock, every day, including today, knocking on people’s doors whose houses have been flooded.
They ask the homeowners what they need. If they need flooring and sheet rock ripped out, wet insulation removed, someone to crawl through crawlspaces, whatever, they do it. For free.
Where did they come from?
They are a Christian charity group started by Billy Graham’s son.
Forgive me for what I’m about to say – Feck You, Occupiers. You should be ashamed of yourselves.
Feck you, Damon Vix. You are an embarrassment to humanity.
Feck you, secular left, for making fun of Christians.

All I see is white people doing good things.
Sho this to the unions like SEIU or the IBEW.

My local news had the report. I saw lots of Latinos volunteering.
This could be the left’s undoing.
Latino’s are, for the most part, devout.

Samaritan’s Purse is an excellent organization, and does this kind of work all over the world. It is most definitely “boots on the ground” faith. We’ve been supporters for years.
I highly recommend that you sign up on their mailing list, to keep you informed of the work they do, and how you can help.

Well. There you go.
Community organizers are a waste of space (0bama/Jackson/Sharpton). What’s needed are people like these, DOING something good. Actually DOING something.

I know of their work from the “Christmas Child” program where they ask people to take home a shoebox, fill it with small presents, stationary supplies, toiletries etc. then label it “boy” or “girl” and return them to the church for collection and eventual distribution to third-world kids for Christmas morning.

I have lots of Latino friends. They are conservative, TEA party types, just don’t realise it yet.
Working on it.

Great outfit. Like Brian, I’m familiar with their ‘shoebox program’.
And that’s Greta Van Susteren…she’s a supporter:

Thanks for posting this Fur. My niece works for Samaritan’s Purse. It’s just a temporary gig – but she’d love to get on full time because of the great work they do. If anyone is looking for a deserving charity to give money to – can’t do much better than this one.

My wife and son have been contributing to Operation Christmas Child for years. I have an automatic monthly contribution set up for them on my credit card. My contributions for 2013 will be directed to Samaritan Lodge Alaska, where they help couples with a wounded military spouse returning home from war start to rebuild their lives. This is a great organization. I also like Heifer International.

God bless these folks.
There were a lot of Christian charity groups helping people after Katrina, too. They gave their time, their energy with no expectation of anything in return.
Their work, their support, but mostly their prayers make me smile to this day.
Good folk.

This is who we are.
Proud Americans, ready to help our neighbor in need.
From something so small as a neighborhood meal schedule for a family in need up to hurricane/tornado/earthquake/fire, etc., devasttion, the best assistance comes from the roots — not the government!

This is the ONLY charitable organization I give to. My church doesn’t even get my money anymore. This is the only one I am confident in that will give most of the money to where it is designated.
I read Franklin Graham’s (Billy Graham’s son) autobiography where he discussed starting this organization. He is personally involved in making sure that where they go is really helping and not giving money to crooks under the table (like Red Cross giving most of their money collected to their bigwigs).
I just wish I could give them more.
